Almaleki, Deyab A.,Bushnaq, Afrah A.,Altayyari, Basmah A.,Alshumrani, Amenah N.,Aloufi, Ebtesam H.,Alharshan, Najah A.,Almarwani, Ashwaq D.,Al-yami, Abeer A.,Alotaibi, Abeer A.,Alhazmi, Nada A.,Al-Boq International Journal of Computer ScienceNetwork S 2021 International journal of computer science and netw Vol.21 No.7

This study aimed to examine the Factor Structure of the teacher satisfaction scale (TSS) with distance education during the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as affirming the (Factorial Invariance) according to gender variable. It also aimed at identifying the degree of satisfaction according to some demographic variables of the sample. The study population consisted of all teachers in public education and faculty members in higher education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The (TSS) was applied to a random sample representing the study population consisting of (2399) respondents. The results of the study showed that the scale consists of five main factors, with a reliability value of (0.94). The scale also showed a high degree of construct validity through fit indices of the confirmatory factor analysis. The results have shown a gradual consistency of the measure's invariance that reaches the third level (Scalar-invariance) of the Measurement Invariance across the gender variable. The results also showed that the average response of the study sample on the scale reached (3.74) with a degree of satisfaction, as there are no statistically significant differences between the averages of the study sample responses with respect to the gender variable. While there were statistically significant differences in the averages with respect to the variable of the educational level in favor of the middle school and statistically significant differences in the averages attributed to the years of experience variable in favor of those whose experience is less than (5) years.

Evaluation of calcium, magnesium, vitamin D and some biomarker parameters levels in children with favsim disease in the Basrah Governorate-Iraq

        Ashwaq A. Shenta,Khansaa S. Saud,Ali A. A. Al-Shawi,Mustafa F. Hameed 한국응용생명화학회 2022 Journal of Applied Biological Chemistry (J. Appl. Vol.65 No.4

Essential minerals are important for human health because they support biochemical reactions in metabolism and may play a role in the development of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency (G6PD). We investigated the relationship between calcium, magnesium, urea, creatinine, total protein, glucose and vitamin D levels in G6PD deficiency in this study. The control group consisted of 40 people (23 females and 17 males) and the patient group consisted of 50 people (20 females and 30 males), all of whom were between the ages of (1-12 years). The findings revealed that the calcium level in patients, depending on sex factor, has a highly significant increase (p <0.0001) when compared to the control group, especially in children who are females rather than males who are affected by G6PD deficiency. In addition, the level of magnesium was found to be significantly different (p <0.0001) in children male patients when compared to the control group. On the other side, the level of total protein was found to be significantly high in children patients (p <0.01) when comparing with control group, and the levels of urea, creatinine and glucose were found to be highly significant increase (p <0.001) in patients when comparing to healthy groups, vitamin D levels were significantly lower (p <0.0001) with G6PD deficiency comparing to control group. In conclusion, the low and high significant associations between vitamin D, calcium, magnesium, urea, creatinine, and glucose indicate that more research is needed to better understand their roles in G6PD development.

      • Access Control Mechanism for CouchDB

Ashwaq A., Al-otaibi,Reem M., Alotaibi,Nermin, Hamza International Journal of Computer ScienceNetwork S 2022 International journal of computer science and netw Vol.22 No.12

Recently, big data applications need another database different from the Relation database. NoSQL databases are used to save and handle massive amounts of data. NoSQL databases have many advantages over traditional databases like flexibility, efficiently processing data, scalability, and dynamic schemas. Most of the current applications are based on the web, and the size of data is in increasing. NoSQL databases are expected to be used on a more and large scale in the future. However, NoSQL suffers from many security issues, and one of them is access control. Many recent applications need Fine-Grained Access control (FGAC). The integration of the NoSQL databases with FGAC will increase their usability in various fields. It will offer customized data protection levels and enhance security in NoSQL databases. There are different NoSQL database models, and a document-based database is one type of them. In this research, we choose the CouchDB NoSQL document database and develop an access control mechanism that works at a fain-grained level. The proposed mechanism uses role-based access control of CouchDB and restricts read access to work at the document level. The experiment shows that our mechanism effectively works at the document level in CouchDB with good execution time.

      • Pilot Study of the Sensitivity and Specificity of the DNA Integrity Assay for Stool-based Detection of Colorectal Cancer in Malaysian Patients

Yehya, Ashwaq Hamid,Yusoff, Narazah Mohd,Khalid, Imran A.,Mahsin, Hakimah,Razali, Ruzzieatul Akma,Azlina, Fatimah,Mohammed, Kamil Sheikh,Ali, Syed A. Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2012 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.13 No.5

Background: To assess the diagnostic potential of tumor-associated high molecular weight DNA in stool samples of 32 colorectal cancer (CRC) patients compared to 32 healthy Malaysian volunteers by means of polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Methods: Stool DNA was isolated and tumor-associated high molecular weight DNA (1.476 kb fragment including exons 6-9 of the p53 gene) was amplified using PCR and visualized on ethidium bromide-stained agarose gels. Results: Out of 32 CRC patients, 18 were positive for the presence of high molecular weight DNA as compared to none of the healthy individuals, resulting in an overall sensitivity of 56.3% with 100% specificity. Out of 32 patients, 23 had tumor on the left side and 9 on the right side, 16 and 2 being respectively positive. This showed that high molecular weight DNA was significantly (p = 0.022) more detectable in patients with left side tumor (69.6% vs 22.2%). Out of 32 patients, 22 had tumors larger than 1.0 cm, 18 of these (81.8%) being positive for long DNA as compared to not a single patient with tumor size smaller than 1.0 cm (p <0.001). Conclusion: We detected CRC-related high molecular weight p53 DNA in stool samples of CRC patients with an overall sensitivity of 56.3% with 100% specificity, with a strong tumor size dependence.

Transition Metal Complexes Derived From 2-hydroxy-4-(p-tolyldiazenyl)benzylidene)-2-(p-tolylamino)acetohydrazide Synthesis, Structural Characterization, and Biological Activities

        Alhakimi, Ahmed N.,Shakdofa, Mohamad M.E.,Saeed, S. El-Sayed,Shakdofa, Adel M.E.,Al-Fakeh, Maged S.,Abdu, Ashwaq M.,Alhagri, Ibrahim A. Korean Chemical Society 2021 대한화학회지 Vol.65 No.2

Mononuclear Cu(II), Ni(II), Co(II), Mn(II), Zn(II), Fe(III), Ru(III), and UO2(II) complexes of 2-hydroxy-4-(p-tolyldiazenyl)benzylidene)-2-(p-tolylamino)acetohydrazide (H2L) were prepared by direct method. The ligand and its complexes were isolated in solid state and characterized by analytical techniques such as elemental and thermal analyses, molar conductance, magnetic susceptibility measurements and spectroscopic techniques such as UV-Visible, IR, 1H-NMR and 13C-NMR. The spectral data indicated that the ligand acted as neutral/monobasic bidentate or monobasic/dibasic tridentate ligand bonded to the metal ions through the oxygen atom of ketonic or enolic carbonyl group, azomethine nitrogen atom and deprotonated/protonated phenolic oxygen atom forming either tetragonally distorted octahedral or octahedral. Antimicrobial activities of the ligand and its complexes were evaluated against Escherichia coli, Bacillus subtilis and Aspergillus niger by well diffusion method. The results of antifungal activity showed that the Fe(III) complex (10) exhibited higher antifungal against Aspergillus niger than the other complexes. However, the results of antibacterial activity revealed that Cu(II) complex (4) is the most active against Escherichia coli while the Cu(II) complex (5) and Fe(III) complex (10) exhibited higher antibacterial effect on Bacillus subtilis than the other complexes.
