Parametric Study on Uplift Capacity of Anchor with Tie in Sand
Ashis Kumar Bera 대한토목학회 2014 KSCE JOURNAL OF CIVIL ENGINEERING Vol.18 No.4
In the present investigation a series of model tests have been performed to study the effect of different governing parameters viz.,relative density (Dr) of sand, the ratio of embedment depth (H) of anchor to diameter (D) of bell of anchor, number of ties (N), theratio of length of tie (Lg) to diameter of bell of anchor, diameter of bell of anchor and friction ratio (f = ψ/φ) on uplift capacity ofanchor with ties embedded in river sand. From the experiment, it is observed that with increase in H/D ratio the ultimate upliftcapacities of anchor with or without ties increase. With increase in number of tie layers up to 2, the ultimate uplift capacity of anchorwith ties increases. A non linear power model has been developed to predict the ultimate uplift capacity (QRult) of anchor with ties interms of ultimate uplift capacity of anchor without tie (QUR), Dr, H/D ratio, N, Lg/D ratio, and f.

We report the statistical optimization of the immobilization of alkaline α-amylase [E.C. 3.2.1.1] from Bacillus alcalophilus onto nano-sized supermagnetic ironoxide nanoparticles (MNPs) for augmenting the cost effective industrial application of MNP-bound α-amylase. Both Plackett-Burman factorial design and response surface methodology (RSM) were employed to screen the influence of different parameters and the central effect of response on the α-amylase-iron oxide MNP binding process. The high coefficient of determination (R2) and analysis of variance (ANOVA) of the quadratic model indicated the competence of the proposed model. The size of the MNPs was confirmed by X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscope analyses in which Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy suggested immobilization of the enzyme on iron-oxide MNPs. A significant improvement (~ 26-fold)in specific activity, thermal and storage stability, and reusability of α-amylase after binding with iron-oxide MNP reinforced the improved biotechnological potential of the α-amylase iron-oxide MNP bioconjugate compared to free α-amylase. These results open new avenues for applying this MNP immobilized enzyme in different industrial sectors, notably in the paper and brewing industries.
η-RICCI SOLITONS ON PARA-KENMOTSU MANIFOLDS WITH SOME CURVATURE CONDITIONS
Ashis Mondal 강원경기수학회 2021 한국수학논문집 Vol.29 No.4
In the present paper, we study η-Ricci solitons on para-Kenmotsu manifolds with Codazzi type of the Ricci tensor. We study η-Ricci solitons on paraKenmotsu manifolds with cyclic parallel Ricci tensor. We also study η-Ricci solitons on ϕ-conformally semi-symmetric, ϕ-Ricci symmetric and conformally Ricci semi-symmetric para-Kenmotsu manifolds. Finally, we construct an example of a three-dimensional para-Kenmotsu manifold which admits η-Ricci solitons.

Ashis Mondal 강원경기수학회 2021 한국수학논문집 Vol.29 No.2
In the present paper, we study three-dimensional f-Kenmotsu manifolds admitting the Schouten-Van Kampen connection. We study the concircular curvature tensor of a three-dimensional f-Kenmotsu manifold with respect to the Schouten-Van Kampen connection. Finally, we have cited an example of a three-dimensional f-Kenmotsu manifold admitting Schouten-Van Kampen connection which verify our results.

OBJECTIVES: Cancer is a multi-factorial disease, with various intrinsic and environmental factors contributing to its occurrence. Human papillomavirus (HPV) has been associated with the occurrence of many cancers. India severely suffers from 3 HPV-associated cancers (cervical cancer, oral cancer, and oropharyngeal cancer). Hence, the present study aimed to evaluate the HPV burden in these 3 cancers among patients from the western region of India. METHODS: DNA was isolated from samples from 400 cervical cancer, 127 oral cancer, and 75 oropharyngeal cancer patients. Polymerase chain reaction was performed using degenerate primers for HPV infection. RESULTS: Overall, HPV infection was observed in 87% of cervical cancer cases, 12.5% of oral cancer cases, and 26.7% of oropharyngeal cancer cases when analyzed with a cumulative detection method using the MY 09/11, GP 5+/6+, and CP I/II primer sets. CONCLUSIONS: A significant prevalence of HPV infection was detected in all 3 cancers using the degenerate primer sets. This finding implies that testing for HPV infection using multiple primer sets is crucial for determining its actual prevalence in various malignancies.

In this article, we described about the preparation and electrochemical properties of a flexible energy storage system based on a plastic polyethylene terephthalate (PET) substrate. The PET treated with UV/ozone was fabricated with multilayer films composed of 30 polyaniline (PANi)/graphene oxide (GO) bilayers using layerby- layer assembly of positively charged PANi and negatively charged GO. The conversion of GO to the reduced graphene oxide (RGO) in the multilayer film was achieved using hydroiodic acid vapor at 100 °C, whereby PANi structure remained nearly unchanged except a little reduction of doping state. Cyclic voltammetry and charge/discharge curves of 30 PANi/RGO bilayers on PET substrate (shorten to PANi- RGO30/PET) exhibited an excellent volumetric capacitance, good cycling stability, and rapid charge/discharge rates despite no use of any metal current collectors. The specific capacitance from charge/discharge curve of the PANi-RGO30/PET electrode was found to be 529 F/cm3 at a current density of 3 A/cm3, which is one of the best values yet achieved among carbon-based materials including conducting polymers. Furthermore, the intrinsic electrical resistance of the PANi-RGO30/PET electrodes varied within 20% range during 200 bending cycles at a fixed bend radius of 2.2 mm, indicating the increase in their flexibility by a factor of 225 compared with the ITO/PET electrode.

The mathematical model of hydrodynamic dispersion through a porous medium is developed in the presence of transversely applied magnetic fields and axial harmonic pressure gradient. The solute introduce into the flow is experienced a first-order chemical reaction with flowing liquid. The dispersion coefficient is numerically determined using Aris’s moment equation of solute concentration. The numerical technique employed here is a finite difference implicit scheme. Dispersion coefficient behavior with Darcy number, Hartmann number and bulk flow reaction parameter is investigated. This study highlighted that the dependency of Hartmann number and Darcy number on dispersion shows different natures in different ranges of these parameters.
