The geometric shape recognition which needs more correctness in a certain part has been dealt with importance in image analysis applications. Also, the study of new methods that classify partial or modified shapes has been continued. Thus, this paper describes new method of geometric shape matching using the spline formula that is convenient for generating the free-form smooth curves. Therefore, a set of curves generated from several formulas of spline have identical properties. This paper shows the relationship about the shape matching methods by simply moving the design points, exploting the relationships between general interaction methods for curve design and various spline formulas. Thus, this paper is suggested to method for shape matching using the formula of cubic splines, B-splines, Bezier splines, Catmull-Rom splines.

SSI(Surface/Surface Intersection)is a fundamental geometric operation which is used in solid and geometric modeling to support trimmed surface and Boolean operations. In this paper, we suggest a new algorithm for tracing along the intersection curve of two regular surfaces. Thus, in this paper, we present a simplicity of computing and second degree continunity. Given a point of intersection curve, it is traced to entire curve of a intersection curve as the initial point of its and the initial point of each of a intersection curve is detected to DFS(Depth First Search) method in the Quadtree and is naturally presented a continuous form.

Shape-preserving property is the important method that controls the complex free from curve/surface. Interpolation method for the existed Shape-Preservation had problems that it has needed the minimization of a curvature-related functions for calculating single-valued data. Solving this problem, in this paper, it proposed to the algorithm of generalizing C1 piecewise parametric cubic curve that has shape-preserving property for both Single-value data and Multi-value data. When there are the arbitrary tangents and two data, including shape-preserving property, this proposed method gets piecewise parametric cubic polynomial by checking the relation between the shape-preserving property and then calculates efficiently the control points using that. Also, it controls the initial shape using curvature distribution on curve segments.

This paper proposes the scattered data interpolation as an efficient method that is designed for free-form surface. Data interpolation is an essential method of designing for various objects. For the generating free-form surface of complexity construction, the existing method had problems to represent flat area and sharp corner edge, in presenting objects with computing the weight of control points. For solving this problem, we proposes the generating method of new approximation surfaces, using scattered data interpolation. This method obtains B-Spline basis function which calculates main curvature, having optimized value in variable area, on given control points and changed objects, and then computes the changing rate of approximating data, using it's value. We also present this method that generates smoother free-form surface, using the scattered data interpolation with minimum weight.
