This paper shows experimentally the characteristics of raising up the flashover voltage in supension insulators or bushing according to the theoretical results which was gotten by previous study. It was shown theoretically that, if some conducting metallic barriers are inserted into the flashover discharge path, the flashover voltage is found to be increased considerably. In order to verify this theoretical results, some basic experimental study was done, and the results was found to be more or less satisfactory except some problems which must be considered in future study.

There are three important elements-resistor, inductor and capacitor-in many electrical systems. Capacitors are most numerous as resistors in them. Most of electrical engineers and technicians have multitesters which can be used to measure resistance readily, but few of them have instruments which check capacity. The digital-readout capacitance meter studied here is a most useful instrument when one has to determine the valus of unmarked capacitros or those with unknown codes, when checking the tolerance of marked components. Its autorange function greatly simplifies what would ordinarily be a measurement chore without this feature. Traditionally, capacitance has been measured on an AC bridge by balancing known components against the reactance of an unknown capacitance at a given, fixed frequency. However, instruments are now appearing which employ a different method to determine capacitance. We measure the charging time of a capacitance through a resistor instead of the discharging time which other digital capacitance meter measure.

Insulation durability of generators, and motors are the most important proporty determining the life of an electric machine. lately the insulation of high voltage stator windings has made remarkable progress in insulability in application of synthetic resin and large capacity and miniturization of electric machine are made possible. Furthermore, high reliability is demanded on the insulation persistence. The study of electric insulations is presented in many types and forms. In reality, insulation breakdown of electric machines is not one proper to intrinsic dielectric breakdown by solid induction materials which has been studied by von Hippel, Fro¨lich and many physicists but secondary or extrinsic dielectric breakdown deriked from corona treeing caused by various defects found in solid insulating substances such as boid, crack. Compound dielectrics like these practical electric machine is generating partial damage befor insulation breakdown occours, which is generated by the defects and extrinsic factors.
