In this paper we present a knowledge-based SMD fault diagnose system in which the case-based reasoning and hybrid neuro-fuzzy technology are applied This knowledge-based system can be used as a sub-system of enterprise knowledge management system (KMS). A machine fault diagnose operation is stored as a case with problem indices and solution indices to the case-base and those indices are also used as learning data for hybrid neuro-fuzzy system. The proposed knowledge-based fault diagnose system provides the stable and consistent maintenance plan by removing the subjectivity of human expert.
