        청소년의 휴대전화의존도, 우울의 변화 궤적 및 자기조절학습 능력 간의 구조적 관계

        The purpose of this study was to examine the longitudinal relationships between Korean adolescents’mobile phone dependency, trajectories of depression, and self-regulated learning abilities. To achieve these goals, structural equation modeling analysis was conducted, using the 3rd, 5th and 7th wave of the data on 4th graders taken from the Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey. The results can be summarized as follows. First, growth-curve longitudinal analysis indicates that depression in 6th through 10th grade has increased. Second, mobile phone dependency among adolescents at 6th grade has a significant effect on both the initial value and the rate of change in depression. Also, the initial value and the rate of change in depression have significant relationships with mobile phone dependency at 10th grade. Moreover, both increased levels of mobile phone dependency and the rate of change in depression significantly influence adolescents’self-regulated learning abilities at 10th grade. Based on a longitudinal data set, these findings demonstrate the causal relationships between Korean adolescents’trajectories of depression and their mobile phone dependency. The findings also provide a comprehensive framework with implications for adolescents’development through an understanding of the relationships between adolescents’depression and mobile phone dependency, which impact their self-regulated learning abilities.

        만 5세 유아의 또래놀이 단절과 학교준비도의 관계

        이 연구는 만 5세 유아의 또래놀이 단절, 사회적 유능감 및 학교준비도의 관계를 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 육아정책연구소에서 실시한 한국아동패널 7차년도 자료의 유아 총 1,144명의 자료를 활용하였다. 기술통계, 신뢰도 및 상관관계를 분석하였으며, 만 5세 유아의 또래놀이 단절과 학교준비도의 관계에서 사회적 유능감의 조절효과를 위계적 회귀분석을 실시하여 검증하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 만 5세 유아의 또래놀이 단절은 이들의 사회적 유능감 및 학교준비도의 모든 하위요인인 사회․정서발달, 학습에 대한 태도, 의사소통 이해 및 인지발달과 일반적 지식과 통계적으로 유의한 관계를 보였다. 둘째, 만 5세의 유아의 사회적 유능감의 조절 효과를 확인한 결과, 이들의 사회적 유능감의 수준에 따라 또래놀이 단절이 학교준비도의 사회․정서발달, 학습에 대한 태도 및 의사소통 이해에 미치는 영향이 다름을 확인하였다. 이와 같은 결과는 학령기로의 전이를 앞둔 만 5세 유아의 또래놀이 단절이 학교준비도에 미치는 영향에서 타인과의 관계를 통한 사회적 기술인 유능감의 발달이 중요하며, 이들의 원만한 학교환경으로의 전이를 도울 수 있도록 학교준비도를 높이는데 시사점을 제공할 수 있을 것이다. 이 연구의 결과를 토대로 관련 논의와 후속 연구에 대한 제언을 제시하였다. The study investigated the relationship among peer play discontinuity, social competence and school readiness using data collected from 1,144 five-year old children from the 7th wave of the Panel Study of Korean Children(PSKC). Data were analyzed by means of descriptive statistics, Cronbach’s α, correlation and hierarchical regression analysis to test for the moderating effect of the children’s social competence on the association between peer play discontinuity and school readiness. The results can be summarized as follows. Firstly, all the variables were significantly related to one another. Secondly, according to the results of the interaction analysis between factors, preschoolers’ social competence moderated the effect of preschoolers’ peer play discontinuity on sub-variables of school readiness, including social-emotional development, attitudes towards learning and communication comprehension. Therefore, this study highlighted the importance of fostering social competence in young children so as to experience an appropriate and smooth transition into school life in the future. Practical implications from these findings and suggestions for direction of future research are also discussed.

        어머니의 외로움, 인지적 유연성과 유아의 사회적 유능성의 관계: 어머니가 지각한 일상에 미치는 코로나19 영향의 조절된 매개효과 검증

        Objectives: The purpose of this study is to explore the association among mothers’ loneliness, cognitive flexibility, and children’s social competence, and examine the moderated mediating effect of mothers’ perceived impact of COVID-19 on daily lives on the relationships. Methods: Data were collected from 315 mothers having three-to-five-year-old children through an online survey. Preliminary analyses were conducted using descriptive statistics. In addition, the mediation, moderation, and moderated mediation effects were examined using the SPSS Process macro 3.5 and the analysis considered children’s age, sex, and birth order as covariates. Results: The findings can be summarized as follows: First, mothers’ loneliness had a significant negative effects on their cognitive flexibility and children’s social competence, and the partial mediation effect of mothers’ cognitive flexibility on the association between their loneliness and children’s social competence was significant. Second, mothers’ perceived impact of COVID-19 significantly moderated the effect of their loneliness on children’s social competence. Third, mothers’ perceived impact of COVID-19 also significantly moderated the effect of their cognitive flexibility on children’s social competence. Lastly, there was a significant moderated mediation effect of mothers’ perceived impact of COVID-19 on the relationship in which mothers’ loneliness affected children’s social competence mediated by their cognitive flexibility. Conclusion: These findings empirically confirmed the association among mothers’ loneliness, cognitive flexibility, and children’s social competence in a comprehensive framework, suggesting the importance of mothers’ emotional and cognitive factors in order to understand young children’s social competence in the current pandemic situations.

        초기청소년의 휴대전화의존도와 자기조절학습 간 자기회귀교차지연효과 검증: 성별 간 다집단 분석

        Objective: The purpose of this study was to examine the bidirectional relation between mobile phone dependency (MPD) and self-regulated learning (SRL) of early Korean adolescents in 4<sup>th</sup>, 6<sup>th</sup> and 8<sup>th</sup> grade, while taking into account gender differences. Methods: The study made use of panel data from the Korean Children and Youth Panel Study (KCYPS), and three waves of data collected from 2,264 adolescents were analyzed by means of autoregressive cross-lagged modeling. Results: The results can be summarized as follows. Firstly, MPD and SRL were consistently stable for adolescents in 4<sup>th</sup>, 6<sup>th</sup> to 8<sup>th</sup> grades. Secondly, a bidirectional relations between MPD and SRL were confirmed. In other words, there was a significant influence of a high level of MPD on a subsequent low level of SRL, and the high level of SRL also had a significant effect on the lower level of MPD across time. According to multi-group analysis, no gender differences were found in the relations between two constructs during the studied period. Conclusion: Findings highlighted not only the necessary media usage education but also parenting intervention strategies may help early adolescents to be prevented from negative effects of media usage and to enhance self-regulated learning ability. Based on the results, more implications were also discussed.

        초기청소년이 지각한 부모의 부정적 양육방식, 휴대전화의존도 발달 궤적 및 자기조절학습 간의 관계

        The purpose of this study was to examine the relationships among Korean early adolescents’ perceived negative parenting practices, trajectories of mobile phone dependency(MPD), and self-regulated learning(SRL), while taking into account gender differences. Early adolescents are required to acquire self-regulation in Korean cultural contexts of a strong emphasis on academic achievement and recent technological advancements. The study made use of data from the Korean Children and Youth Panel Study(KCYPS), and three waves of data collected from 1,953 adolescents in 7<sup>th</sup>, 8<sup>th</sup> and 9<sup>th</sup> grade were analyzed. The results can be summarized as follows. Growth-curve longitudinal analysis indicates that their initial value of MPD through 7<sup>th</sup> to 9<sup>th</sup> grade had increased, but the initial value and rate of change were significantly different according to gender. Furthermore, the results of multiple group analysis revealed that some path weights appeared different according to gender. For male students, the rate of change in MPD did not have a significant effect on either SRL in 7<sup>th</sup> or 9<sup>th</sup> grade, whereas for female students, it predicted the existence of significant relationships with them. The implications of these findings were also discussed.

        초등학생 자녀를 둔 취업모의 일-가정 균형의 잠재전이분석: 일-가정 균형의 유형 및 유형 간 전이의 예측요인 검증을 중심으로

        The purpose of the study was to apply latent transition analysis to the work-family balance of working mothers with a child in elementary school by focusing on the effect of antecedents on both work-family balance typology and the transition between typologies. Data from 400 working mothers who participated in the eighth and eleventh waves of the Panel Study on Korean Children were used. The results can be summarized as follows. First, the latent profile analysis of working mothers whose children were in the first grade classified the work-family balance types as 'contradictory' or 'beneficial' and of working mothers whose children were in the fourth grade as 'conflictual', 'contradictory', 'high beneficial', 'low beneficial' or 'beneficial'. Second, working mothers whose work-family balance was 'contradictory' or 'beneficial' when their children were in the first grade mostly had, respectively, a 'low beneficial' or a 'high beneficial' balance when their children were in the fourth grade. Third, the probability of being classified into each type differed according to subjective happiness and marital conflict in the first grade, and marital conflict and social support in the fourth grade. Moreover, marital conflict and social support were significant in the transition between the types of work-family balance. The study showed that the types of work-family balance differed for each time point for individual working mothers. The study also highlighted the importance of parenting-related personal, family and social factors in determining the work-family balance type and transition between types.

        유아 자녀를 둔 어머니와 아버지의 양육스트레스, 가족 응집성과 유연성 및 온정적 양육행동 간의 자기효과 및 상대방효과 검증

        Objective: The purpose of this study was to assess actor and partner effects of mothers’ and fathers’ parenting stress and family cohesion and flexibility on warm parenting behavior. Methods: The sample consisted of 1,471 couples from the Panel Study of Korean Children. The sample was drawn from the sixth wave of data collection, including mothers and fathers of children aged 60–66 months. Data were analyzed via actor-partner interdependence models. Results: The findings illustrated that the actor effect of parenting stress on warm parenting behavior was significant in mothers and fathers, but there was no partner effect. They also revealed that actor and partner effects were significant in relation to mothers’ and father’s parenting stress and family cohesion and flexibility. Moreover, there was an actor effect of family cohesion on warm parenting behavior for mothers and fathers, but its partner effect was significant only in mothers. Finally, the mediating effects of family cohesion and flexibility between parenting stress and warm parenting behavior was verified. Conclusion: The results highlight not only the need for dyadic data analysis for mothers and fathers but also the need to consider in depth the fathers’ role in parenting. Additional implications are discussed.

        초등학교 1학년 아동의 학교적응 유형화 및 어머니의 교육참여 예측요인 검증

        Objectives: The purpose of the present study was to investigate the types of school adjustment of children in the first grade and to identify the predictors of mothers’ educational involvement on the children’s school adjustment types. Methods: Data were collected from 144 pairs of mothers and teachers from the Panel Study on Korean Parent Educational Involvement (PSKPEI) in 2018. Preliminary analyses were examined using descriptive statistics. Furthermore, a latent profile analysis and a three-step approach using the Mplus program were conducted to examine the typology of first graders’ school adjustment and to identify the predictors of mothers’ educational involvement. Results: The major findings of this study are as follows: First, the latent profiles of first graders’ school adjustment were classified into three types (mild adjustment difficulties, adequate adjustment, and high-level adjustment). Second, the probability of being classified into each type differed according to parenting efficacy, educational support activities at home, and teacher-mother relationships among mothers’ educational involvement. In particular, first graders are more likely to belong to the high-level adjustment group compared to those in the mild adjustment difficulties group when mothers have high levels of parenting efficacy, there are educational support activities at home, and there are positive teacher-mother relationships. Conclusion: These findings empirically confirmed individual differences in first graders’ school adjustment, and suggest the importance of mothers’ educational involvement on their children’s adjustment in their first year at school.
