감염병 보도 지침에 따른 에볼라 바이러스 언론보도 내용분석:국내 주요 일간지를 중심으로

본 연구는 공중 보건 및 커뮤니케이션 분야에서 거의 다루지 않았던 건강위험 이슈에 대해 국내 주요언론들이 언론 보도 지침을 준수하고 있는지 알아보고자 하였다. 특히 2014년에 공중 보건 영역에서 중요한 이슈로 부각된 ‘에볼라 바이러스’를 주제로, 보건 및 헬스 분야의 전문 학 술단체인 한국헬스커뮤니케이션학회와 보건복지부 출입기자단이 협업하여 수립한 ‘감염병 보도 준칙’과 세계보건기구(WHO)의 ‘감염병 커뮤니케이션 지침’을 바탕으로 내용분석을 실시하였다. 분석 결과, 본 논문에서는 바이러스의 ‘유행’과 관련된 정보가 ‘위험의 크기’ 혹은 ‘위험의 정도’ 와 관련된 기사보다 많았고, 바이러스 ‘질병에 대한 특성’ 및 ‘감염병 관리’에 대한 정보는 상대적으로 적었다. 본 연구는 기존에 개발된 감염병 커뮤니케이션 지침이 실제 뉴스에서 잘 적용 되고 있는지를 살펴봄으로써, 보도 지침의 중요성과 더불어 지침을 준수하는 것의 중요성을 촉구하는데 있어 경험적 증거로 사용되는데 기여하고자 한다. Media play a crucial role in informing the public about an emerging infectious disease and its health risk. Thus, Korea Health Communication Association and press corps in the Ministry of Health and Welfare worked together to establish the infectious disease reporting guidelines, guided by and benchmarking World Health Organization(WHO)'s Outbreak Communication Guidelines. But little is known about the extent to which media comply to such guidelines. The purpose of this study to examine how mainstream newspapers report an emerging infectious disease comply to the guidelines in the context of Ebola Virus. A content analysis of 213 major newspaper reports indicated that reports cover individual incidents of virus infection more than the degree and magnitude of risk of Ebola Virus. The frequency of reports covering disease characteristics and control of Ebola Virus was not common. Accuracy of information on the Ebola outbreak and preventive guidelines for the public has much room for improvement. This study provides a first step to document evidence on how much media comply to the outbreak communication and reporting guidelines. The results can be used to urge the media to take more responsible reporting practices in such contexts of life-threatening events.

용액 플라즈마 공정을 이용하여 제조된 금 나노유체의 특성평가

In the present work, water-based gold nanofluids were synthesized by the solution plasma processing (SPP). The size distribution and the shape of gold nanoparticles in the nanofluids were investigated using high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HR-TEM). The dispersion stability of gold nanofluids was characterized using zeta potential, as well. The thermal properties of gold nanofluids were measured by utilizing lambda measurement device. Nanofluids containing nanoparticles with $64.0{\pm}42.1\;nm{\sim}18.10{\pm}5.0\;nm$ in diameter were successfully synthesized. As diameter of nanoparticles decreased, dispersion stability of nanofluids increased and the enhanced ratio of thermal conductivity increased. The nanofluid with nanoparticles of $18.10\;{\pm}\;5.0\;nm$ in diameter showed approximately 3% improvement in thermal conductivity measurement and this could be due to the enhanced Brownian movement.
