대학생의 영어능력과 수업참여 적극성이 학업적 자기효능감, 수업만족도 및 학업성취에 미치는 영향

본 연구는 대학의 영어수업에서 학생의 영어능력과 수업참여의 적극성 정도에 따라 학업적 자기효능감, 수업만족도 및 학업성취에 차이가 있는지와 실제 영향을 미치고 있는지를 밝혀보고자 하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 통해 영어강의에 영향을 미치는 요인을 탐색하여 학생 차원의 효과적인 영어강의의 설계 전략과 대학차원의 수강지원방안을 수립해 보고자 시도하였다. 본 연구를 위해 서울 소재 A대학교에 재학 중인학부생 중에 영어강의를 수강한 학생 155명을 대상으로 설문 및 영어능력, 학업성취도 검사를 진행하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 영어강의에서 학생의 인지적 요소인 영어능력과 정의적 요소인 수업참여 적극성 정도에 따라 학업적 자기효능감, 수업만족도 그리고 학업성취에 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 영어강의에서 학생들의 인지적·정의적 요인이 모두 충족될 때 영어강의 수업 효과성이 극대화될 수 있음을 알 수 있었다. 셋째, 영어강의에 적극적으로 참여하고자 하는 동기유발이 있을 때, 학생들은 영어강의에 대한 만족도가 높게 나타났다. 마지막으로 영어강의를 수강하는 데 영어능력이 학생들의 학업성취에 여전히 중요한 영향 변인이 되고 있다는 사실이 본 연구를 통해 재확인되는 계기가 되었다. The purpose of this study is to examine whether there exist differences in undergraduate students’ academic self-efficacy, class satisfaction, and academic achievement depending on their higher or lower levels of English proficiency and active class participation, and to see the influences of their English proficiency and active class participation on academic self-efficacy, class satisfaction, and academic achievement. For this study, 155 students were sampled from an English medium class of an university located in Seoul, Korea, and English proficiency test and survey were done. And, other information such as course exam scores was also collected after the class ended at the end of the semester. The study result shows that; ① The differences exist in students’ academic self-efficacy, class satisfaction, and academic achievement in accordance with the higher or lower levels of students’ English proficiency and activeness of class participation, ② When both cognitive and affective domain skills of students are high enough, their scores are highest in their class satisfaction and course achievement, ③ Active class participation of undergraduate students has an positive influence on their class satisfaction, ④ It is revealed that the English proficiency is still one of strongest factors influencing students’ class satisfaction and academic achievement in English medium class. In conclusion, educational strategies and policies for English medium instruction of Korean universities are recommended based on the results in this study.

한국·미국·호주의 대학평가기구 분석을 통한 상호 협력방안 구축 연구

선진국과 개발도상국을 막론하고 양질의 고등교육은 자국의 경제성장에 중요한 요인이라는 인식하에 고등교육의 질 향상을 위한 다각적인 개혁을 추진하고 있다. 그리하여 고등교육기관이나 프로그램에 대한 평가를 통한 개선을 추구하고 있으나, 개별국가의 독자적인 고등교육체제 개혁만으로는 공교육의 수월성 향상에 한계가 있음을 인식하게 되었으며, 이에 따라 각국 고등교육기관 간의 인적·물적 자원 및 프로그램 간 협력 도모의 필요성이 증대되어 왔다. 이러한 필요성에 근거하여, 본 연구는 국제화·개방화 사회에서 고등교육기관 간의 상호인정과 고등교육평가 역량의 극대화를 위한 한국·미국·호주 3개국 평가기구 간의 협력 방안을 탐색·제시하는데 목적을 두고 있다. 이를 위해 먼저 한국, 미국, 호주의 고등교육 평가체제의 현황을 분석?비교하였다. 비교분석 준거로 대학평가의 이념 및 목표, 기본체제, 기구의 성격, 구조, 인적 구성, 평가 내용, 기준 및 방법, 제도 및 운영, 그리고 개선동향 등을 설정하여 이에 기초한 한국·미국·호주지역 국가들의 고등교육평가 체제의 운영 현황을 기술하였다. 둘째, 3개 국가의 평가기구 분석 등을 통하여 대학 평가기구 간의 협력체제 구축방안을 탐색·제시하였다. The purpose of this study is to develop cooperative plans among accreditation (audit) agencies of Korea, the U.S., and Australia in order to maximize mutual acknowledgement and the capability of universities. For this study, evaluation systems of higher education of these three countries are comparatively analyzed at first. In the analysis, accreditation(audit) systems of those three countries are compared in terms of purposes and goals, basic structures, characteristics, structures, personnel, evaluation content and criteria, procedures, management schemes, and recent trends. Second, based on the result from the comparative analysis of the evaluation systems, strategic plans are suggested to encourage collaboration among accreditation (audit) agencies of those three countries.
