        『훈민정음해례(訓民正音解例)』의 발음오행을 통한 무도(武道) 양생기합법(養生氣合法) 고찰

        추해광,김만태 한국문화융합학회 2018 문화와 융합 Vol.40 No.7

Gihab(shout of concentration)(氣合) in the oriental martial arts is the concentration of mind and power to give a certain special power, or the sound[音] that reveals the accumulated mental force(內功) naturally by utterance(發聲). Gihab(shout of concentration) helps the circulation of Qi and the blood(氣血) through the operation of Qi(氣) through the breath. From a reverse philosophical point of view that the principle of creation and operation of all things in the universe is the result of Taeqeuk, Yin and Yang, Five Elements, Samjae(三才), it’s Hunminjeongeum that the result of the grounds of our ancestors who understood a speech sound(聲音). So far, there have been a few previous studies on Gihab(shout of concentration), but there are no studies on Yangsaeng(養生) training through Gihab(shout of concentration). Bareumohaeng(Pronunciation Five Elements) improves physical activity and the efficiency of health promotion in the circulation of Qi(氣). In addition, it’s considered that the output of Qi based on Yin-Yang and Five Elements will be extended. It was found the fact that sound can affect the body was connected with the origin principle of 『Hunminjeongeumhaerye』 Soriohaeng(Five Elements of Sound) as part of Yangsaeng training. According to Yin-Yang and Five Elements and Samjae implied in 『Hunminjeongeumhaerye(訓民正音解例)』 Jejahaeron(制字解), if making use of Gihab(shout of concentration) sound with Bareumohaeng(Five Elements of Pronunciation) complementing the trainee’s innate Saju(四柱)ohaeng(Four Pillars Five Elements), it can be Yangsaeng training that is coexistent and harmonious with the trainee’ Yin-Yang Five Elements energy. Yangsaenggihabbeob(養生氣合法) is a key of collecting (取用) it as Gihab sound (shout of concentration) by analyzing the ratio of Ohaeng(Five Elements) in the innate Saju and balancing the lack ratio of Ohaeng.

Breathing is the basic activity that instills the force of life in a human body. The repeated principle is to prolong life and maintain strength. Since time immemorial, humans have received the energy of the cosmos through the breathing method of “Danhak(丹學),” cultivated “Jeonggisin(精氣神),” and expanded their being into “Yangsaeng(養生).” In addition, they have recovered their innate “Wonsin(元神)” and realized their pure nature. From the perspective of Danhak, this study considers the Danhak(丹學) of breathing methods inherent in the training system of Gongsudo(Karate). The purpose of this study is to apply the breathing methods of “Josik(調息)” and “Pyegi(閉氣)” that are in Yonghobigyeol(龍虎秘訣) to the Gongsudo training system from the standpoint of Danhak. Yonghobigyeol (龍虎秘訣) explains the method of Josik, which is—briefly put—a core secret of mind training, and suggests a three-step training system: Pyegi(閉氣)⋅Taesik(胎息)⋅Jucheonhwahu(周天火候), which is based on the Danhak(丹學). However, the breathing method in the Gongsudo training system is an art that controls the mind by controlling the breath, releases accumulated Pyegi, and ensures the harmony of the tempo and speed of physical movements. This study applies the three steps of the Yonghobigyeol(龍虎秘訣) breathing method to Gongsudo and constitutes the breathing method suitable for the different stages of the training of Gongsudo. First, “controlling the mind” is the most important foundational step in the training of Gongsudo. For this, the trainees organize their minds, practice composure through “Josik,” and enhance their stability and concentration. It is a kind of meditation that aims to accumulate one’s energy. Second, the intermediate stage of Gongsudo training requires the practice of caution while “using the body.” In this stage, the trainees express the energy created by “Josik” and “Pyegi.” Here, the aspect of energy accumulation is different from the previous stage because now the trainees practice physical movements. Last, the aim of the advanced stage is to reach the state of awakening where true human nature is realized through “controlling the mind” and “using the body.” In other words, if “Jeong(精)” and “gi(氣)” are communicated by sincere “Josik” to make the body and soul become one[心身一如]; then, “shin(神)” is recovered and the whole “one” is attained. As discussed above, the training of Gongsudo is the systemization of bodily movements through the operation of energy. This study applied and considered the breathing methods of the Gongsudo training system through Yonghobigyeol(龍虎秘訣) and deducted a common probability of “Pyegi” using breathing as a medium of static training of Danhak and dynamic training of Gongsudo. In the future, it will be necessary to research the “Yangsaeng Training Method(養生修練法)” based on breathing methods such as “Doinbeob(導引法).” This study is expected to contribute to people’s health, longevity, and happiness through the breathing methods of the Gongsudo training system.
