섬유종증은 양성 섬유종양으로서, 섬유종과 섬유육종의 중간적 성질을 보이며, 주로 전복벽에서 여성에 많이 발생하나 재발을 잘하고, 질벽에서 원발적으로 발생한 보고가 거의 없는 바, 본 저자들은 최근 질벽에서 발생한 섬유종증 1례를 체험하였기에 문헌고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다 Fibromatoses or desmoid tumors are benign fibrous tumors arising from muculoaponeurotic structure of the entire body and the majority of them occur in anterior abdominal wall, but not infrequently in other parts of the body, mesentry, head and neck, shoulder girdle, thigh, extremities, and rare in the pelvic floor which is possible that abodominal or mesentricibromatoses may encroach on the urinary bladder, vagina, or mesentricffibromatoses may encroach on the urinary bladder, vagina, or rectun, and causes hydronephrosis, and even may compress the illic vessels, especially extremely in case of primarily arising from vaginal wall They constitute about 3 5% of all the fibrous tissue tumors and 0 03% of all neoplasms, and predominantly in women They also have a predilection for occuring in women in their child bearing ages 20-40 years, that suggest which propensity for desmoid formation may be under sex hormonal influence, and frequently related to trauma They are intermediate in their clinical behavior and histologic findings It requires wide radical excision but followed by high recurrence Recently we experienced a case of fibromatoses arising in the vaginal wall, it is presented with a brief review of other reports and literature
