The physical education of Lee Dynasty was focused on training warrior, which was the root of the modern physical education. Yul - Gok's warrior education view was so meaningful that we inquired into the method of bringing up the warnior and training them up through Sung - hak - gyp - yo( ), Man-un-dae-sa( ), Six-Proposition( ), Mun-mu-chaek( ) and Kun-jung-chaek( ) on the basis of the complete works of Yul-Gok(44 vol.). And we got the conclusion as follows. Yul-Gok was the great scholar who devoted his interest to train civilians, and national defense. He advised to bring up civil and army who were well up in both civil and military. He claimed about making the strongest of the army and building up the one hundred thousand troops that shows us his eminent foresight. He urged that the method of training the warriors, which made the boys from juvenile age recognize the necessity of the military art education, and which holds body and mind with repeating review through all the year. Moreover, he insisted that the tact winner should be given reward and opportunity of the rise of the social level, could make much effective education.

Yul-Gok`s recreation view was so meaningful that we inquired into the basis of the complete works of Yul-Gok(44 vol.). And we got the conclusion as follows. Yul-Gok`s recreation can be said that the way to spend leisure time usefully was to give the vitality to next work with taking a rest, taking care of one`s conscience, recovering one`s vigor the harmony of works and leisure is important to human beings. Yul-Gok taught that one has to take a rest and to brace oneself by using leisure time rightly, while reading the books. It comes from this fact that mind is spirit and will(性情), by which mind act, can control the desire of mind. The way of Yul-Gok`s recreation is to the control mind. To develop study or realize truth(道), the leisure must help conscience. Doing of You-Young(遊泳) and Bal-Seu-Jung-Sin(發舒精神), enjoying landscape extending the spirit, and widening the benevolence and righteousness with morality bring about educational effect of a vast-flowing spirit.

This study is based upon the research about the collective work of YulGok called YulGokJeonSeo and his sightseeing. The research begins with analyzing the purposes and places in YulGokJeonSeo and finding implications of YulGok’s poems and his sightseeing essay. The results of the research are the following. First, the meaning of journey includes sightseeing, traveling, and meditation. Also the purposes of the journey are experiencing freedom and learning how to get positive mind in nature. The Kum-Gang Mountain is most frequently shown in YulGok’s sightseeing essay. Second, the purpose of his journey is not just sightseeing but growing Great Spirit. Third, YulGok’s enjoyed famous mountain and scenic lands with great water and nature. Forth, his poem implies that YulGok’s puts a lot of hard work into building Great Spirit through cultivating his mind and body. Also, he empathizes the true meaning of journey: taking pleasure in the great nature is journey and knowing how to enjoy nature consist in finding enlightenment.

This study aimed to investigate the history Chungnam sports development and obtained the following conclusion. First, it office was in Daejeon in 1932 and moved to Naepo New Town in 2013. Second, Chungnam sports was distributed with school sports as the center and developed mainly in Gongju and Daejeon. In 1927, the Chungnam Sports Association was established with various sports distributed. Third professional sports was boosted with Daejeon as the center after Korea’s liberation from Japan’s colonial rule. The Daejeon Sports Association was founded and held a sports game for inhabitants, and the Chungnam Sports Association was re-established. In 1960, Chungnam first hosted the 41st National Sports Festival, and Chungnam people played a big part in it. Fourth, Chungnam sports was hit hard after Daejeon and Chungnam were separated in 1989. It organized a new sports association establishing a franchise organization. It received the best evaluation through the school sports club activities in the 2000s. It is expected that the integrated operation of sports game for Chungnam people and daily sports and cultural festival will contribute to the development of Chungnam sports in the future.
