Delay-Tolerant Network (DTN) is an asynchronous networking technology that has been deployed for the networking environment in which steady communication paths are not available, and therefore it stores receiving data in a data storage and forward them only when the communication links are established. DTN can be applied to sensor networks and mobile ad-hoc network (MANET) as well as space communication that supports data transmissions among satellites. In DTN networking environments, it is very important to secure a scheme that has relatively low routing overhead and high reliability, so that it can enhance the overall routing speed and performance. In order for achieving efficient data transmissions among the nodes that have comparatively periodic moving patterns, this paper proposes a time information based DTN routing scheme which is able to predict routing paths. From the simulation results using Omnet++ simulation tools, it has been verified that the proposed time information based DTN routing algorithm shows satisfied levels of routing speed and routing reliability even with lower routing overheads.
와이맥스 메쉬 네트워크에서 LSQR 스케줄링을 이용한 QoS 라우팅 성능 향상에 관한 연구

Recently, wireless mesh network has been focused as a core technology for resolving the issues of shadow zone and distributed bypass route as it has broad service coverage as well as good scalability features. It, however, provides users with relatively lower QoS than infrastructure-based networks. In order for addressing this QoS issue and also enhancing the routing performance of mobile WiMax mesh network, this paper proposes a load sensing QoS routing (LSQR) scheme. In the proposed LSQR, each node figures out network congestion status and selects a bypass route accordingly. With this scheme, we can expect good load balancing effect by changing the routing paths from centralized links to distributed links under a heavy traffic condition. From the simulation results using NS-2, it has been verified that the LSQR shows lower packet loss rates and data transmission delays than the existing representative routing schemes.

WiBro technology provide mobile devices with a transmission speed of more than 1 Mbps even under the condition of high mobility (120 km/h). In a building, however, there is more demand for high bandwidth for various activities, and WiBro services may not be available. In order to guaranteeing a seamless service continuity and high transmission capability for mobile users within a specific establishment that has deployed WiBro network, we should secure an internetworking platform for WiBro and WiFi networks. This paper introduces WiMax forum and 3GPP standards, proposes WiBro-WiFi Interworking (WWI) architecture, its implementation details, and finally verifies validity of the proposal by using OPNet simulations.
