This paper introduces an approach of Hybrid Particle Swarm Optimization(HPSO) for a security-constrained economic dispatch(SCED) with line flow constraints. To reduce a early convergence effect of PSO algorithm, we proposed HPSO algorithm considering a mutation characteristic of Genetic Algorithm(GA). In power system, for considering N-1 line contingency, we have chosen critical line contingency through a process of Screening and Selection based on PI(performace Index). To prove the ability of the proposed HPSO in solving nonlinear optimization problems, SCED problems with nonconvex solution spaces are considered and solved with three different approach(Conventional GA, PSO, HPSO). We have applied to IEEE 118 bus system for verifying a usefulness of the proposed algorithm.
온라인 선로상정사고 분산처리를 위한 SIMD구조의 PC 클러스터링

This paper introduces the PC clustering of the SIMD structure for a distributed processing of on-line contingency to assess a static security of a power system. To execute on-line contingency analysis of a large-scale power system, we need to use high-speed execution device. Therefore, we constructed PC-cluster system using PC clustering method of the SIMD structure and applied to a power system, which relatively shows high quality on the high-speed execution and has a low price. SIMD(single instruction stream, multiple data stream) is a structure that processes are controlled by one signal. The PC cluster system is consisting of 8 PCs. Each PC employs the 2 ㎓ Pentium 4 CPU and is connected with the others through ethernet switch based fast ethernet. Also, we consider N-1 line contingency that have high potentiality of occurrence realistically. We propose the distributed process algorithm of the SIMD structure for reducing too much execution time on the on-line N-1 line contingency analysis in the large-scale power system. And we have verified a usefulness of the proposed algorithm and the constructed PC cluster system through IEEE 39 and 118 bus system.

This paper introduces a new approach based on a quantum-inspired evolutionary algorithm (QEA) to solve unit commitment (UC) problems. The UC problem is a complicated nonlinear and mixed-integer combinatorial optimization problem with heavy constraints. This paper proposes a bounded quantum evolutionary algorithm (BQEA) to effectively solve the UC problems. The proposed BQEA adopts both the bounded rotation gate, which is simplified and improved to prevent premature convergence and increase the global search ability, and the increasing rotation angle approach to improve the search performance of the conventional QEA. Furthermore, it includes heuristic-based constraint treatment techniques to deal with the minimum up/down time and spinning reserve constraints in the UC problems. Since the excessive spinning reserve can incur high operation costs, the unit de-commitment strategy is also introduced to improve the solution quality. To demonstrate the performance of the proposed BQEA, it is applied to the large-scale power systems of up to 100-unit with 24-hour demand.

The transmission network clustering using a fuzzy entropy function are proposed in this paper. We can define a similarity measure through a fuzzy entropy. All node in the transmission network system has its own values indicating the physical characteristics of that system and the similarity measure in this paper is defined through the system-wide characteristic values at each node. However, to tackle the geometric mis-clustering problem, that is, to avoid the clustering of geometrically distant locations with similar measures, the locational informations are properly considered and incorporated in the proposed similarity measure. In this paper, a new regional clustering measure for the transmission network system is proposed and proved The proposed measure is verified through IEEE 39 bus system.
탐색곡선법과 WASP-IV 모형을 이용한 국내 적정 전원구성 분석

This paper tries to elicit an optimal generation mix of Korea. Two approaches, using the screening curve method and taking advantage of a generation expansion planning tool, WASP-IV, are applied in getting the mix. The data used in this study is based on the 5th basic plan for long-term electricity supply and demand. The Load Duration Curve, that is needed for applying Screening Curve Method(SCM), is made based on the load profile in 2010. In our using SCM, the nuclear plant’s operation characteristic, carbon emission cost and spinning reserve are considered. In using WASP-IV to get the adequate generation mix, the base and target demand forecasts in the 5th basic plan are used and the carbon emission cost is also considered. In this paper, It introduces the domestic adequacy generation mix in 2024 though SCM and WASP-IV.

The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship among fun factor, participation motivation, and continuance intention to sport of the social baseball club activity. In order to the purpose of this study, the participants of this study consisted of 276 social baseball players from social baseball clubs located in Seoul and Gyeonggi. Samples were extracted by convenient sampling method. 276 data were collected in this study except data which did not respond or trustlessly responded. In data processing, via SPSS 18.0 version for Window, Pearson`s correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis were conducted in order to study the relationship among fun factor, participation motivation, and continuance intention to sport of the social baseball club activity. The following were results of the study. First, the social baseball club participants` fun factor had influence upon participation motivation. Second, the social baseball club participants` fun factor had influence upon continuance intention to sport. Third, the social baseball club participants` participation motivation had influence upon continuance intention to sport.
PC 클러스터 기반의 Multi-HPSO를 이용한 안전도 제약의 경제급전

This paper proposes an approach of Multi_HPSO based on the PC cluster system to reduce or remove the stagnation on an early convergence effect of PSO, reduce an execution time and improve a search ability on an optimal solution. Hybrid PSO(HPSO) is combines the PSO(Particle Swarm Optimization) with the mutation of conventional GA(Genetic Algorithm). The conventional PSO has operated a search process in a single swarm. However, Multi_PSO operates a search process through multiple swarms, which increments diversity of expected solutions and reduces the execution time. Multiple Swarms are composed of unsynchronized PC clusters. We apply to SCED(security constrained economic dispatch) problem, a nonlinear optimization problem, which considers line flow constraints and N-1 line contingency constraints. To consider N-1 line contingency in power system, we have chosen critical line contingency through a process of Screening and Selection based on PI(performace Index). We have applied to IEEE 118 bus system for verifying a usefulness of the proposed approaches.

This paper presents a Windows graphic developed by the authors for the education and training of power system Object-oriented programming is a major trend in computer software because it increases flexibility of large-scale software systems. An efficient platform for power system simulation applications has been proposed. This paper presents an intuitive Windows-based program for the power system analysis. The advantages of the object-oriented approach are demonstrated with an implementation of the graphical program. It provides a graphical interface for designing the one-line diagram of the bus and analyzing the output of the simulations. A graphical editor to visually edit the power system, diagram, results processing and exporting and graphic presentations.
