The high-rise building construction field in the urban area is short of working space because it is surrounded by adjacent buildings and nearby roads. The insufficient space causes problems of interference and conflicts in transporting materials and working at the site. These problems can be resolved through the proper selection and layout of temporary facilities. The objective of this paper is to develop a method of evaluating and selecting alternatives of temporary facility layout planning in high-rise building projects using AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process). The method supports a decision-maker to evaluate and select the alternatives of temporary facilities plans by establishing and analyzing processes and influence factors of them. Construction duration and costs are used as criteria that objectively evaluate the alternatives of temporary facilities plans. Case studies are performed to evaluate the feasibility and applicability of the proposed method.

Problems solved by the TRIZ method have been developed and applied in many fields ranging from management as well as engineering. Most of the problems occurring in the construction site should be applied immediately. To solve the problem of building engineering, formulation of the problem solving process using the TRIZ method is needed. This study classified and analyzed the problem solving process of architectural engineering technology in accordance with the procedures of TRIZ, and showed the case of solving problem in the field and the availability of TRIZ theory in architectural engineering. This paper shows that the TRIZ theory can be used as a tool for creative problem solving and cost reduction in architectural engineering

Knowledge is essential in planning of building constructions. However, it is not easy to use the knowledge because it is usually stored privately. This study suggests knowledge matrix as a method to use knowledge necessary for planning temporary facility layouts on a construction site. The knowledge matrix supports a planner to use easily influence factors, decision items of a temporary facility, and knowledge of temporary facility layout planning. K-Matrix is an application of the knowledge matrix, and is used in the temporary facility layout planning system. We have verified that K-Matrix is able to make and evaluate the alternatives of layout plans.

For efficient construction management, various 4D CAD systems linking 3D CAD and construction schedule are<br/> developed. And some researches show the construction progress using the virtual reality technology. This paper<br/> developed the VR-SMS(Virtual reality for Steel Construction Management System) which enables a project manager<br/> to control schedule and cost of his project in web-based virtual reality space. The system has the advantages of the<br/> availability of 2D drawings by converting 2D model to 3D model and lower cost to build the virtual reality model<br/> than other VRML models and 4D CAD models. A structural steel work is applied to verify the capability and<br/> usefulness of the system.

In construction projects, weather is regarded as a risk that increases construction costs and causes safety accidents. But, the risk may become an opportunity if construction schedules are planned considering historical weather information and the schedules are modified by weather prediction in performing construction works. This paper proposes a method to update the work schedules using real-time weather information in working the construction activities. The results of the paper are: (1) While many of previous researches use historical weather information in order to plan construction schedules, this paper proposes a method to use real-time weather information to modify the construction schedules. (2) The method provides non-working condition based on weather factor supposing each activity has the intensity of weather effect because construction works or activities have different effect from weather. (3) A sample network verifies feasibility of the proposed method.
CPM 공정표를 선형 공정표로 변환하기 위한 액티비티 생성 방법

The origin of CPM and PERT was used for specific military and commercial purposes. However, CPM network technique is insufficient to adopt work repetitiveness and space-based work productivity of high-rise building. Thus, linear scheduling methods such as LOB(Line of Balance), RPM(Repetitive Planning Method) and LS(Linear Schedule) have been developed and studied by many companies and researchers. However, when it comes to change the previous CPM network schedule to the linear schedule, the previous researches have not been well addressed work breakdown structure(WBS), space breakdown structure(SBS), and activity generation by combining WBS and SBS in order to present the activity in LOB chart. Given the circumstances of linear scheduling methods, we performed this research as follows. First, we studied previous researches related to linear scheduling methods and weighted the pros and cons of the previous researches and this study. We also proposed the method to combine WBS and SBS in order to present activities on linear schedule. Finally, we summarized this research and suggested the future studies. This research therefore proposes the method to effectively use the accumulated data of CPM network and at the same time generate activities in order to efficiently change CPM network schedule to LOB schedule.

The building construction projects include a variety of risk factors due to uncertainties. To succeed in the projects, it is important how risks are managed. Risk management is composed of identification, analysis and response. Especially, the risk analysis is important to objectively calculate significance of risk factors. This paper evaluates a method to find priorities of risks using the AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process). The method has some defects; (1) the consistency becomes weak as the number of pair-wise compared risks is large, and (2) the input and output procedures are complex when risks are added to or removed from a risk database. Thus the paper adopts the PROMETHEE(Preference Ranking Organization METHod Enrichment Evaluations) analysis process which is able to overcome the limitation of the AHP restricted to 9 risk factors. The PROMETHEE makes the procedure of risk analysis simple, when the risk factors pull out and put in the risk database. The purpose of this study is to provide process of risk analysis to use the PROMETHEE. 최근 건설 프로젝트는 규모의 대형화, 공정의 복잡함 등에 의한 리스크 인자의 발생이 증가하고 있다. 이로 인해 건설관리에서 리스크 관리의 중요성은 더욱 부각되고 있는 현실이다. 리스크 관리는 확인, 분석, 대응의 과정을 통해서 이루어지며, 분석과정에서 위험인자들의 중요도 및 우선순위를 객관적이고 정확하게 분석해내는 것이 리스크 관리의 성공여부를 좌우한다. 본 연구는 기존연구에서 건설 프로젝트의 공정 리스크 중요도 및 우선순위를 산출하는데 사용된 AHP 기법의 문제점을 보완하기 위하여 PROMETHEE를 활용한 정량적 분석 프로세스를 제시하였다. PROMETHEE를 사용함으로써 AHP 기법에서 분석대상 인자가 9개를 초과 할 때의 신뢰성 저하와 인자의 추가 또는 삭제 시 발생하는 복잡한 산출절차의 문제점을 보완할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

In the public sector, the number of interior construction projects is continuously increasing. When the interior construction is carried out, it is largely divided into design and construction stages. On the other hand, in order to place an order in the public sector, it requires institutional conditions such as business type, price criterion, award criteria, and guarantees. But in th case of interior design, it is necessary to establish a basis law to be applied for ordering. Therefore, this study analysed the necessity of improving the system related to the interior design order in the public sector and suggested ways to improve the system. In the future, we will continue to conduct research based on this research, and if institutional improvement is made through the proposed methodology, it will be possible to apply effectively not only in the public sector but also in the private sector.
