To verify the Finite Element Method(FEM) model of an Exhaust System, Frequency Response Function(FRF) is utilized. Up to now. generally. comparisions of natural frequencies and mode shapes of an Exhaust System between numerical analysis and experimental result are adopted to prove completion of FEM model. However. the comparisions of natural frequencies and mode shapes are not sufficient to have a perfect FEM model of an exhaust system. Instead of these comparisions. FRF method is introduced for a perfect FEM model.<br/>

The hanger posi tions of the exhaust system can be determined to minimize the energy transferred into a body by the normal mode analysis of the total exhaust system using the Finite Element Method.<br/> During this procedure, the bellows effect is also studied using the forced vibration analysis. In this article, these analyses are performed below 200 Hz, equivalent 6000 rpD based on the 2nd order component of a four cylinder engine.<br/>
