사매(Duchesnea indicae Herba)의 生理活性 成分硏究

The whole plant of Duchesnea indica (Andr.) Focke (Rosaceae) (abbreviated in DI) has been used as a folk medicine in treating amenorrhea, inflammation, fever, and traumatic injuries, detoxifying and breaking up clots. Thin layer chromatography of the ether fraction revealed 7 spots. The spot (Substance 1, Rf=0.64) was isolated by silica gel column chromatography and preparative TLC. Chemical properities and spectra of Substance 1 examined by ultraviolet, infrared, nuclear magnetic resonance and mass spectrophotometers suggested that it is a kind Methoxy dehydrocholesterol.
억이인(Coix lachryma jobi L.)의 成分에 관한 硏究

薏苡仁(Coix lachryma jobi L.)의 ether Extract의 불검화물에서 sterol의 混合物을 얻었다. 이것을 GLC로 同定한 結果, β-sitosterol, 95%, stigmasterol, 4.7%, 未確認 sterol, 0.3%의 混合物임을 確認하였다. A mixture of sterols, mp 139-140, was isolated from the seeds of Coix lachryma jobi L. and the composition of sterols was identified as β-sitosterol (95%), stigmasterol (4.7%) and unknown sterol (0.3%) by Gas Chromatography.

The analgesic, anticonvulsant and anti-inflammatory activies of leaves of Hedera rhombea BEan were evaluated. The methanol and butanol fractions showed considerable analgesic activity, but no anticonvulsant activities. Anti-inflammatory activity was found in the methanol, butanol and ether fractions by carrageenin indeced edema test.

The antibacterial activity of Duchesnea indicae Herba against the four species bacteria was observed.: E. coli, B. subtilis, S. aureus, A. niger. The effects of Duchesnea indicae Herba on the growth of bacterial cells were variable depending upon the species of bacterium. Of the Duchesnea indicae Herba extracts, Ether and Hexane soluble fraction have been shown positive results for antimicrobial test, particularly 2 preparative substances (Rf. 0.81, 0.68) of Hexane soluble fraction. Thin layer chromatograms of Hexane soluble fraction, which was positive in N-KOH, FeCl_3, Pb(AC)_2 T.S. and Liebermann-Burchard reaction revealed 6,7,8 and 4 spots respectively.

The whole plants of Selaginella tamariscina, Orostachycis japonicus, the cortex of Ulmus mandshurica, and the wood of Alnus japonica have been used as folk medicine for treating cancer. The cytotoxic activity of these plants were tested using a calorimetric tetrazolium assay (MTT assay). S. tamariscina and A. japonica showed mild $IC_{50}$ value, comparing with O. japonicus and U. mandshurica. So, MeOH extracts of S. tamariscina and A. japonica were partitioned into $CHCl_3$, EtOAc and n-BuOH, successively. The $CHCl_3$, EtOAc and BuOH fractions of S. tamariscina and A. japonica showed low percent of survival against $P_{388}$ and $MKN_{45}$ cells respectively. To isolate active components, they were subjected to silica gel column chromatography. Compound I was obtained from EtOAc extracts of S. tamariscina and identified as amentoflavone by chemical and spectral analysis. Amentoflavone inhibited the survival of P388 cells dose dependently, while not clearly inhibited that of $MKN_{45}$ cells.

韓國産 좀꿩의 다리(Thalictrum thunbergii DC. var. hypoleucum Nakai)의 細胞分類學的 硏究

It wa found that Thalictrum thunbergii DC. var. hypoleucum has two distinct types, (Ⅰ) and (Ⅱ), with respect to the external morphology of the leaves, the number of stems attached to the root, and chromosome number. Contrary to the previously reported chromosome number of 2n=42, the author found that the chromosome number of type Ⅰ is 2n=77, and that of type Ⅱ is 2n=84. The anatomical examinations also revealed that type Ⅰ has dense root hairs and stone cells in the root cortex, and that type Ⅱ has sparse root hairs and no stone cells. These different characteristics suggest that Tkalictrum thundergii DC. var. hypoleucum consist of two distinct taxa.

This study was conducted to further purify and characterize a polysaccharide fraction from whole parts of Duchesnea indica (Andr.) Focke, which was previously reported to show an antitumor activity by us. Mild acid-treatment of the fraction by 5% acetic acid yielded three subfractions (Fr. A, B and c) on a Sephadex G-25. Fr A was composed of uronic acid, hexose, pentose and phenolic substance, Fr. C mainly phenolic substance, and Fr. B contained hexose. All three fraction exhibited colony stimulating factor activity.
