본 연구는 한국아동, 청소년패널 데이터를 바탕으로 청소년의 우울과 비행의 종단적 인과관계를 분석하였다. 나아가 청소년의 우울과 비행의 종단적 인과관계가 남녀 청소년의 집단에서 차이가 나는지를 분석하였다. 연구대상은 한국아동, 청소년패널 데이터 중 중학교 1학년 2,351명 중 2차년도와 4차년도에 반복측정을 완료한 청소년 2,081명을 대상으로 하였다. 연구방법은 변수들의 종단적 변화들의 관계를 분석할 수 있는 Latent Difference Score(LDS) 모델을 사용하였다. 연구 결과 연구대상 전체를 이용한 LDS모델의 결과는 비행이 우울변화를 유의하게 예측하고 있는 것으로 나타나 우울과 비행에 대한 이론적 모델 중 실패모델을 지지하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 우울과 비행 사이의 종단적 관계는 청소년 남녀 집단에서 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과는 청소년의 비행이 우울변화에 영향을 미치고 있음을 체계적으로 보여주는 결과이며, 청소년의 비행에 대한 예방은 그 자체로서도 필요하지만 우울 예방을 위하여 선행되어야 함을 증거하는 결과이다. 따라서 청소년 비행에 대한 사회복지 개입 프로그램의 개발과 실행에서 우울예방에 대한 측면을 적극적으로 고려할 필요가 있다. The present study aimed to analyze a longitudinal causal relationship between depression and delinquency in adolescents and to examine if the longitudinal causal relationship between depression and delinquency in adolescents differs between male and female adolescents. Study subjects were 2,081 students from Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey(KCYPS) data and Latent Difference Score(LDS) model was used to examine the longitudinal causal relationship between depression and delinquency in adolescents. Data analysis results show that delinquency at a baseline significantly predicts the prospective change in depression, supporting the failure model which assumes delinquency causes depression. In addition, there is no gender difference in term of the longitudinal causal directionality. This implications of the study findings are discussed.
