The purpose of the disk brake is to decelerate and stop the automobile as soon as possible by using the frictional force between the disk and pad. However the disk brake system is affected by the thermal problems such as wear and thermal crack. Due to these problems vibrations are produced and resulting into shortened life or breakdown of the disk brake system. Hot spot, which is a type of thermal problem, is the portion inside the disk where the heat is locally concentrated. The Hot spot causes thermo-elastic instability(TEI). When the area of the Hot spot increases continuously, it causes hot juddering into the braking system, which is a serious low frequency vibration and noise problem.

During the whole injection molding process, the cooling effect should be taken into account since it affects the roughness of the surface, the reduction of shrinkage and the quality of the final product as well, Varying cooling temperature from inner to outer surfaces may cause shrinkage and warpage. In order to prevent the occurrence of shrinkage and warpage, a proper scheme of cooling process must be adopted. Based on the concept of baffle channel pattern, cooling system model has been studied. A numerical simulation for analyzing the shrinkage phenomenon in the proposed model is performed by using commercial CAE package MOLDFLOW. The simulation results present a good prediction of the shrinkage phenomenon during the injection molding process.

This paper studies the impact experiment about composite material with porous material. These specimens are the sandwich composites with cores of aluminum foam and honeycomb. The impact energies of 50, 70 and 100 J are applied at the specimen fixed at jig by Instron Dynatup. Maximum loading point or impact energy absorption at composite of foam core becomes higher than honeycomb core individually.

Injection molding is used to manufacture various kinds of products including very thin plate like frames. One such product is Door video phone system Panel which is our present object of investigation. During the molding process, large deflection problems in the final product always provokes for the several trials for the accuracy. To solve the issue we use Moldflow6.2 which is injection molding simulation software. It simulates the product exactly the way it happens in actual manufacturing environment. Differences in the geometrical parameters such as thickness changes will lead to the large deformation problems in the frame. However in our present study we simulate it in a well defined condition under several trials. Interesting observations are made in minimizing the deformation of the frame during the injection molding process. This way of approach is very useful in further works if any changes have to be made in the product.
