현재와 미래의 모든 교육제도는 완성교육보다 연속교육 또는 평생교육이라는 면이 강조되고 또한 다음 단계의 교육을 위한 준비교육으로 강화되고 있는 점에서 발달단계에 따른 발달과업과 그에 맞는 교육프로그램을 설정하는 것은 의미있는 일이다. 현재와 미래의 모든 교육제도는 완성교육보다 연속교육 또는 평생교육이라는 면이 강조되고 또한 다음 단계의 교육을 위한 준비교육으로 강화되고 있는 점에서 발달단계에 따른 발달과업과 그에 맞는 교육프로그램을 설정하는 것은 의미있는 일이다. 현대사회의 급속한 변화, 직업세계의 변화, 핵가족화와 여성의 직업세계에 진출의 증가추세, 외래문화와의 더 많은 접촉, 환경파괴와 공해문제, 인구의 증가, 그리고 급속한 과학의 발달 등으로 인하여 미래의 사회현상과 그 변화양상은 예측하기가 어렵다. 이러한 사회현상의 변화에 부응하여 개인의 문제를 사전에 예방하고, 각 개인의 의미있는 발달을 조성하는 예방적·발달적 교육프로그램을 작성하는 것이 중요하다. 또한 각급 학교에서는 생애교육과 관련지워 진로지도의 중요성을 인식하고 진로지도를 강화해야만 한다. 본 연구에서는 발달단계의 구분, 단계별 발달과업과 교육프로그램, 생애교육의 개념과 이론들을 살펴보았으며, 특히 발달단계별 교육프로그램의 작성에 강조점을 두었다. 성인초기 이하의 발달과업과 교육프로그램 및 프로그램의 평가는 후속연구에서 다루기로 한다. The purpose of this study is to identify followings: (1) stages of human development, (2) adult life cycle tasks and adult continuing education program, (3) theories of career education, and career guidance, and (4) developmental guidance. Career guidance has been given a new impetus in school. It is due to growing new vocation, social changes, changes of women`s role, family breakdown, crime, destruction of the environment, and overpopulation, extension of human life. Especially, with the adoption of the new examination system of college entrance, the college as well as the secondary education has been confronted a new challenging educational problems. Developmental guidance and counseling assumes that human nature moves individuals sequentially and positively toward self-enhancement. It recognizes there is a force within each of us that makes us believes that we are special and there is nobody like us. It also assumes that our individual potentials are valuable assets to society and the future of humanity. It is important to recognize that the adult life cycle tasks and adult continuing education program which people adopt in the early-adult years can significantly influence the physical and psychophysical growth of their old age.

The purpose of this study is to analyse the content of the elementary school's practical arts analytically. The results of the study are as follows: First, there are relationships between specific content and specific goal of pratical arts. When it comes to the relationship between the practical arts goals and home economics conents, it is found that about 40% of the entire contents of practical arts are home economics conents. Second, when the sequences of the contents of areas are mapped, unrelated conents are much more than related contents in cleaning and odering of management area, but there sequences from the 3th grade to 6th grade in contents of other areas. Finally, when the relationship between the characteristics of the childhood and contents of home economics are analyzed, it is found that imitation, industry, curiosity, sociality, sex role, independency and novelty of the childhood characteristics are reated with home economics contents.
