본 연구는 Q 방법론을 이용해 성공적 노화 개념에 대한 인식차이에 따라 집단을 유형화하고 각 유형의 특징을 고찰하는데 목적을 두었다. 성공적 노화 개념에 대한 진술문을 구성하기 위해 이와 관련한 이론 모델들을 검토하였으며 최근 연구 결과들을 살펴보았다. 구성된 진술문을 대한은퇴자협회 회원 26명에게 제시하여 데이터를 수집 분석하고 모두 3개 유형으로 구분하였다. 제 1유형은 사회관계 지향 및 기능 중시형으로 많은 남성들이 이 유형에 속하였으며 노후에 사회적 관계와 정신적, 신체적 기능을 중시하는 특징을 나타내었다. 제 2유형은 주관적 만족 및 부부관계 중시형으로 많은 여성들이 이 유형에 속하였고 자식에게 집착하지 않는 것, 목적 외식을 지니는 것, 혼자 살수 있는 능력 둥을 중시하였다. 제 3유형은 복지 및 편함 추구형으로 학력 및 경제적 수준, 직업 수준이 높은 사람들로 성공적 노화를 위해 복지 혜택을 중요시하였으며 성공적 노화의 요건으로 오래 사는 것을 지적했다. The purpose of this study is to classify the groups to their various levels of perceiving the Successful Aging concept into several types on basis of Q Methodology. We investigated the theoretical models and examined the latest studies to form concourse about the Successful Aging. Then 27 Q-statements were selected. P-samples were composed of 26 participants, the members of KARP(Korean Association of Retired Persons). As the result, we conformed the following three types. The first is "The Social Relationship and Function Oriented Type". Most participants in this type were male and they put the great stress on maintaining relationship with other People and the mental and physical function. The second is "Subjective satisfaction and Couple-relationship Oriented Type" Most participants in this type were female. They put the emphasis on Independence from their adult children, the clear consciousness of aim about life and the ability of making one's own life, The third is "The Welfare and Safety Oriented Type" Most participants in this type were in the high status of education, economy and career. They indicated that social welfare service could help The Successful Aging whose key factor would be longevity, they also did.
