전통사회로부터의 발전 및 변화에 따라 사람들의 사고방식과 생활습관도 변하고 있다. 현대 사회에서는 전통적인 가치관의 탈피와 결혼관 등의 변화로 인해 싱글족이 점차 늘어나고 있으며, 이에 따라 싱글족의 행동방식, 생활환경, 소비습관 역시 관심의 대상이 되었다. 싱글족의 출현으로 전통 가구 역시 이미 이들의 수요를 만족할 수 없게 되었고, 때문에 싱글족의 특성에 맞춘 가구 디자인을 개발해야 한다. 본 연구는 싱 글족의 발생배경 및 소비심리에 대한 연구를 통해, 싱글족의 소비와 기호의 특성을 분석했으며, 가구수요 를 조사해 싱글족의 거주형태, 가구종류 및 특징에 대해 정리하고 있다. 또한 SWOT분석 방법을 사용하여 싱글족 가구의 장단점에 관하여 한층 더 체계적인 연구를 진행했다. 더불어 싱글족의 가구 수요, 거주형태 및 싱글족 가구의 장단점에 대한 분석을 종합하여 싱글족을 위한 멀티형 가구 디자인이라는 개념을 내놓았 으며, 이를 기초하여 싱글족의 특징 및 수요를 만족할 수 있는 가구 디자인으로 싱글족의 가구수요를 만족 시키기 위해 본 연구를 진행했다. 마지막으로 멀티형 디자인 및 접이식 기능은 공간 활용도를 향상시켰으 며, 새로운 제품 디자인 개발방법을 제시한 점에서 새로운 의미를 가진다. With the development of the society, peoples thought and the way of life is changing. The change of the traditional values and marriage lead to the increase of the “singles” groups in modern society. The “singles” group’s behaviors, living environment, and consumption have become a social focus. With the emergence of the “singles”, traditional furniture already cant meet the demand, so personalized furniture should be developed for the “singles”. This study based on background and consumption psychology of the “singles”, analyzed the consumption characteristics and preferences of the “singles”. It studied the furniture demand of the “singles”, and analyzed the existing unmarried persons residential form, types and characteristics of the furniture, and also analyzed the existing furniture using by the “singles” with SWOT, made a more systematic study for finding the advantages and disadvantages of existing the “singles” group’s furniture. Then, combined with the unmarried persons furniture needs, living forms, the advantages and disadvantages of the “singles” furniture, etc., made the multi-functional furniture design concept for the “singles”. This concept as a design direction, which would make out more suitable furniture be in keeping with the “singles” groups characteristics and requirements. Finally through the concept of multi-functional and folding raise the utilization ratio of narrow space of the living environment.
