The chatter behaviour in endmilling is a complex and nonlinear phenomenon, so it is very difficult to detect and diagnose this chatter phenomenon, This paper presents new method for the detection of chatter in endmilling operation based on the wavelet transform. In this paper, the fundamental property of the wavelet transform is reviewed by comparing the spectrum of other algorithm such as FFT. This result using wavelet transform shows the possibiling of the chatter detection in endmilling operation.

This paper presents several time series methods to analyze the chatter mechanics by using the power spectrum of these algorithms considering the cutting dynamics. In this study, several time series models such as AR(burg, forward-backward, geometric lattice, instrument variable, least square, Yule Walker), ARX(ls, iv4), ARMAX, ARMA, Box Jenkins, Output Error were modeled and compared with one another. Finally, it was proven that time series modelings are also a desirable and reliable algorithm than the other conventional methods(FFT) for the calculation of the chatter mode in turning operation. Also, the spectrum of times series methods is a little bit more powerful than the FFT for the detection of a high noisy and weak chatter mode. The radial cutting force Fy has been used for spectrum and chatter stability lobe analysis in this study.

The machining parts must be produced within the specification of drawing and those will be able to meet function and efficiency. At that time. it is very important not only precision machine and machining technique but also the measurement technique. So. the improvement of measurement technique is to be joined together at once with improvement of machining technique. Finally. the quality and value of the parts are decided by precision measurement. This paper aims to study on the machined surfaces characteristics of aluminum alloy by AFM(Atomic force microscope) measurement. The objective is contribution to ultra-precision machining by exhibit foundation data of surface roughness and tool wear when parts are cutting with diamond tool at the factory.

A real depth of cut in deformed zone has larger than an ideal depth of cut. So the heat generated during grinding operation makes the deformation of a workpiece surface as convex farm. Consequently the workpiece surface remains a geometric error as concave form after cooling In this study, the grinding force and the geometric error were examined in surface grinding. Through magnitude and mode of geometric error were evaluated according to grinding conditions, an optimal grinding condition was proposed to minimize the geometric error In addition, the relationship between the geometric error and the grinding force was examined. Due to least square regression, It was possible to predict the geometric error by using the grinding force.
