Numerical method was used to assess the energy consumption of vertical open showcase with flow control. Two studies were conducted by applying radius to vertical open showcase. The working fluid was air (Pr = 0.7) and the Reynolds number was 6000 ≤ Reω ≤ 8000. The energy consumption were used to evaluate the improvement of vertical open showcase. As a result it was confirmed that the energy consumption decreased by 10% at radius 40mm. Also, the radius 50mm decreased by 11% more than the Basic open showcase.

Restless legs syndrome(RLS) is a common but frequently undiagnosed sensorimotor disorder. It has distinct clinical manifestations and also it is fairly common in late adulthood. However, it is rarely recognized in children because of the difficulties in expressing the signs and symptoms and the lacks of experience of pediatricians about the disease. Although its underlying pathophysiology is not fully understood, the diagnostic criteria of RLS in children were established in the year of 2003. We experienced a case of idiopathic restless legs syndrome in a 10-year-old boy and we present the case with a brief review of related literature. 저자들은 10세 남아에서 수면시와 휴식시에 양측하지에 통증이 악화되고 활동시에 통증이 완화되는 하지불안증후군 1례를 경험하였기에 보고하는 바이다

This study was carried out to confirm the effect of passive flow control applying the radius to the discharge portion and the back panel open ratio. The simulation proceeded with a 2D-steady turbulent flow and numerical analysis was performed on the two cases. The evaluation index of the vertical open showcase can be represented by the entrainment factor. The entrainment factor is the ratio of cooling air to ambient air entering the suction. The first simulation was conducted for the case where the radius was applied to the discharge portion and the case where the radius was not applied to the discharge portion. It was confirmed that a dead zone occurs in the honeycomb region when the radius is not applied to the discharge portion. However, if the radius is applied to the discharge portion, the dead zone in the honeycomb region can be eliminated. As a result, it was confirmed that the entrainment factor decreased by 11% when the radius was applied to the discharge portion. The second simulation was to find the optimal conditions by changing the back panel open ratio. As a result, it was confirmed that the back panel open ratio remained at a similar level at 3.96% or more.

We investigated the amount of the toxic gases emitted from the Electrostatic Precipitators(ESPs), which are currently used as the indoor air cleaners. The existing wire-to-plate(WTP) and neddle-to-plate(NTP) types of ESP designs are considered as the experimental corona dischargers. Using the voltage, the polarity of wire, the number of needles of NTP as the input variables, we studied the generation characteristics of ozone and $NO_{x}$ and the particle removal efficiency in the ESPs. As the results, we found out that the concentration of ozone, $NO_{2}$ and $NO_{x}$ is increased with increasing the voltage and the number of needles, but the amount of NO is decreased. And we observed that the generation rates of ozone and $NO_{x}$ are mainly related with the corona region through the photographs. Finally the experimental results showed that the particle removal efficiency of ESP with WTP type charger is more superior to that with NTP type chargers at the same voltage.
