Despite of low machinability of Inconel 718, its demand keeps increasing and many researches on the improvement of Inconel 718 machinability are being presented recently. The most serious problem on machining Nickel-based alloys is known to competitively short tool life. Many studies pointed out that the extremely high temperature near the cutting edge of a tool caused the short tool life. High pressure coolant was introduced as a good strategy for cooling the cutting tool edge, which could increase the cutting tool life. This paper presents the experimental results of milling Inconel 718 with high pressure coolant focusing on tool wear characteristics. Flank wear of used cutting tools after machining in various cutting conditions are measured and compared. General flood coolant case and high pressure coolant case are mainly compared. Uncoated insert case and PVD coated insert case are also compared and the wear maps for each case are presented. The experimental results show that the tool wear decreases 23% in the case of high pressure coolant case with PVD coated inserts, that is, tool life increases 11% in the same cutting condition.

The monitoring system is indispensable to maintain a constant quality of the final product by collecting data for all the situations that occur during machining process. Based on the openness of machine tool’s CNC, lots of important real time controlling data, such as tool positions, the load of spindle and each feed motors, and actual feedrate, can also be monitored nowadays. This paper presents the possibility of these CNC data for monitoring the tool conditions because CNC data has many advantages. Most of all, they are much cheaper to collect than sensor signals and the monitoring algorithm can be implemented to CNC itself. Various sensor data are collected and analyzed with the synchronized CNC data. The characteristics of monitoring signals are carefully investigated in order to find the relationship between tool wear and monitoring data.

The purpose of this study is to compare and analyze which conflict handling styles are preferred between upper and lower middle managers and how the cultural difference between two countries, Korea and Thailand, has influence on the difference of referent roles and the styles of handling interpersonal conflicts. This study utilizes the discriminant analysis and T-test in order to identify the difference of interpersonal predispositions and the conflict handling styles. Data were collected by the survey method from middle mangers of financial institutions of the two counties. The study results show that Korean upper middle managers prefer integrating, compromising, obliging, dominating, and avoiding respectively in order, while Thailand upper middle managers prefer compromising, integrating, obliging, dominating, and avoiding respectively in order as conflict handling styles. In addition, Korean lower middle managers prefer in the order of integrating, compromising, obliging, dominating, and avoiding, while Thailand lower middle managers prefer compromising, integrating, obliging, avoiding, dominating respectively in order as conflict handling styles. Although this study provides several managerial implications, this study has some limitations. Specifically, data were collected from only the middle managers of financial institutions in Seoul and Bangkok. In spite of the limitations, the study results could be used valuably in case that the personnel managers of Korean companies which operate in South-East Asian countries negotiate with the employees of domestic countries in labor dispute.
