CA2-based clinker with highly activated surface and hydraulic properties was synthesized at a comparatively lowr temperature than that of conventional synthesis by "hydration-burning method". This consists of calcining the mixture of CaCO3 and Al2O3 to obtain a primary clinker, hydrating the primary clinker and reburning the hydrates to obtain final clinker. Burning of primary clinker above 1200℃ was necessary to eliminate free CaO in it and to obtain it's solid hydrate. However, rising the burning temperature above 1300℃ is ineffective due to the decrease in hydraulic properties of the primary clinker with the temperature. Hydration of primary clinker at the elevated temperature(>35℃) was required to obtain the hydrate with more porous structure and final clinker with more active surface. CA2 was formed and increased with temperature at above 1150℃, finally became a primary phase of the final clinker. However, burning at the temperature above 1300℃ resulted in reverse effect on the hydraulic properties of the final clinker due to rapid decrease in it's surface area with the temperature.

고로 수쇄슬래그의 알칼라 자극제로 굴껍질 하소물을 사용하고 충진재로서 굴껍질 분말을 사용한 수경성 조합물을 제조하였다. 알칼리 자극제의 혼합 비율은 경화 특성에 큰 영향을 미쳤으며, 10∼20%일 때 가장 높은 강도가 발현되었다. 또한, 굴껍질 분말의 충진재로서의 역할은 첨가량이 30%일 때 가장 효과적이었으며, 알칼리 자극제 혼합량에 상관없이 강도 상승의 효과를 나타내었다. A hydraulic mixture was prepared from blast furnace slag, calcined oyster shell as an alkaline stimulant, and powdered oyster shell as a filler. Hardening properties of the mixture were remarkably affected by the amount of alkaline stimulant. The amount of alkaline stimulant for the best strength of hardened body was about 10∼20% by weight. Addition of powdered oyster shell was most effective as a filler at 30% without relation to the amount of alkaline stimulant.

Continuous microstructural changes on heating of hardened paste prepared from primary clinker of CA2 composition was studied. On heating period, several characteristic shrinkages and microstructural changes took place in the specimen due to the dehydration and recrystallization of calcium aluminates without regard to the accelerative shrinkage resulted from sintering. Though micropores formed by dehydration decreased with recrystallization of calcium aluminates, micropores formed by plate-type gibbsite in the hydrates were maintained up to the temperature at which CA2 becomes main phase and had influence to the microstructure of the final clinker.

구연산이 첨가된 0.01 M의 $\beta$-인산칼슘 용액을 수열처리 하여 휘스커 상 수산화아파타이트를 합성할 때 수열처리 온도 및 시간이 휘스커의 생성에 미치는 영향을 관찰하였다. 용액을 30$0^{\circ}C$에서 5시간 수열처리 할 때 c축으로 약 60-80$\mu\textrm{m}$까지 성장하고 비교적 순수한 휘스커를 얻을 수 있었으며 이렇게 합성된 수산화아파타이트 휘스커를 수산화아파타이트 시멘트에 1-2 wt% 첨가하였을 때 그 경화체의 직경인장강도는 약 4-6배까지 증가하였다.
