In this study, benzoxazolo carbocyanine dye was used as sensitizer for photographic emulsion, and the photographic characteristics were examined. The basic properties of sensitizer such as stability in various solvents were examined. The sensitizer was very stable in methanol, acetonitrile, acetone, demethylformamide, and chloroform solution. Absorption spectra of benzoxazolo carbocyanine dye 2.5×10^-6M and 5×10^-6M concentrations in 10% aqueous methanol solutions containing 10^-2M potassium chloride show the monomer-J-aggregation characteristics. Compared to the absorption peak of the monomer in pure methanol solution the red shifts of the monomer-J-aggregate peaks of benzoxazolo acrbocynaine dye of 2.5×10^-6M and 5×10^-6M concentrations in 10% aqueous methanol solutions containing 10^-2M potassium chloride are 34nm respectively, and the sensitizing peak of benzoxazolo carbocyanine dye in photographic emulsion has red shift of 34nm Therefore, if was concluded that benzoxazolo carbocyanine dye can be used as green sensitizing dye for the spectral sensitization of photographic emulsion.

In this paper, intermediate cyan coupler was prepared by the reaction of 2-nitro-4, 6-dichloro-5-methylphenol with Pd(5wt%). The product was identified by using various analytical tools such as melting point, elemental analyzer, IR spectrophotometer and mass spectrometer. The reaction of intermediate cyan coupler with CD-3(color development agent) was shown cyan color.

In the study, sensitizing dye was prepared by the reaction of 2-methyl-3-sulfopropyl-5-phenyl-benzoxazolium(inner salt) with rotho-ester in the presence of triethylamine. The product was identified by using various analytical tools such as Elemental analyzer, IR spectrophotometer, UV-Vis spectrophotometer, H-NMR spectrometer, TGA and DSC. Therefore, it was concluded that benzoxazolo carbocyanine dye can be used as green-sensitizing dye for the spectral sensitization of photographic emulsion.

The product was identified by using various analytical tools such as melting point. Elemental analyzer. IR spectrophotometer. UV-Vis spectrophotometer Mass Spectrometer. The reaction of cyan coupler with CD-3(color development agent) was shown cyan color.

To make the excellent photographic color paper we have studied the photographic emulsion manufacture for yellow, magenta and cyan layer, and the coupler dispersion. And we investigated the average grain size and distribution of AgX in manufactured photographic emulsion, and the average grain size of dispersed coupler. In these result, the average grain size of AgX crystal for photographic emulsion was 0.81㎛ in yellow and 0.54㎛ in magenta and cyan, respectively, and the average grain size of yellow, magenta and cyan coupler dispersion was 0.13-0.27㎛ and 0.14-0.30㎛ and 0.12-0.40㎛ range, respectively. The industrial emulsifier was much better than experimental emulsifier when the couplers were dispersed with industrial and experimental emulsifier.
