        This study is designed to find out the relationship between gender role identity of middle school girls in coeducaitonal physical education classes and their class attitudes and satisfaction. The results based on these research methods and procedures led to the following conclusion. First, regarding the attitude toward the class, there was little difference between girls in coeducational physical education classes and those in same-sex classes. Girls in single-sex physical education classes were found more positive in terms of psychological attitude, which is one of sub factors in class attitude. Second, female students in coeducational physical education classes showed higher level of class satisfaction. Among sub factors of class satisfaction, they scored much higher in satisfaction with teaching methods. Third, girls in same-sex physical education classes showed higher social masculinity, which is one of sub factors in gender role identity. Forth, gender role identity of girls with coeducational physical education affected their class attitude. The more the influence of their social masculinity was, the more positive their class attitude was. Last, gender role identity of girls with coeducational physical education affected their class satisfaction. They showed higher satisfaction as affected more by both their actual and social masculinity.
