Korean people do not put the emphasis on their own jobs even though they think that the work is generally important in life. Some thoughts influenced the formation of this kind of occupational view. They were Human Capitalism that was a background theory of high-speed economic growth, Pariakapitalismus attached to possession and educational thought based upon American Pragmatism that strongly influenced school curriculums. The aim of this paper is to grope for right directivity of vocational education by means of examining Confucius’ occupational view in the Analects of Confucius, the core worth of the Orient, against the serious situation of vocational education in Korea strongly shaken by the worth of the West. Words of Confucius were analyzed by separate fields of vocational education such as vocational philosophy, direction, goal, principle and process of vocational education, vocational ethics, human relations and so forth. It is certain that Korean people will surely consider the work important in life and put the emphasis on their own jobs if they can internalize the philosophy and principles of vocational education appeared in the Analects of Confucius. 한국인은 삶에서 일을 중요하게 생각하나 자신이 하고 있는 일을 자랑스럽게 생각하지 않는다. 이러한 직업관 형성에 영향을 준 것은 1960년대 경제성장 제일주의의 밑받침 이론이 된 ‘인간자본론’과 소유에만 집착하는 ‘천민자본주의’, 그리고 각급학교 교육과정에 심대한 영향을 준 미국의 ‘실용주의(pragmatism) 교육사상’이었다. 본 논문은 동양 가치의 핵심인 論語 속에 나타난 공자의 직업관을 살펴봄으로써 한국인의 올바른 직업관과 직업교육의 바람직한 방향을 모색하고자 하는 것이 목적이다. 따라서 論語에 담겨 있는 공자의 말들을 직업교육의 각 영역별(직업철학, 직업교육의 목적, 직업교육의 원리, 직업교육의 방법, 직업윤리, 직업인의 태도 등)로 각각 살펴보았다. 論語 속에 담겨진 직업교육의 철학과 원리를 살펴본 결과, 이를 한국인이 내면화 시킨다면 틀림없이 삶에서 일을 중요하게 생각하고, 또한 자신이 하고 있는 일을 자랑스럽게 생각하면서 행복한 직업생활을 하게 될 것이다.

The objective of this research is to analyze the culture & arts education policy as national strategy education in Korea, to point out the problems and to present a desirable direction. To attain the objective, concepts of culture, culture & arts, culture & arts education were analyzed. And Culture & arts education policies in America, U.K, were analyzed. Also The culture & arts education policy in Korea were analyzed. The research results revealed many problems in social consensus, diversity, popularization, manpower concerned post in culture & arts education policy. The research showed that culture & arts education policy is very important because of national strategy. The culture & arts education policy must be improved

The purpose of this study is to examine how Mr. Yoo Chi-Jin, known as an artist, contributed to the development of art education in Korea from the viewpoint of the educator. This study focuses upon Mr. Yoo Chi-Jins life, educational background and achievements as an educational theorist and activist. This study claims as conclusions that Mr. Yoo Chi-Jin, as an eminent educator, prepared the base of art education for the first time in Korea, established national identity in art education, presented a novel pattern of art education, grafted plays on education and anticipated the future of the art.

The main purpose of this paper is to study on the establishment of Korea University of Technology by the analysis of Assembly Minutes. The main contents consist of the analysis of the 14th, the 15th, the 18th Culture and Information Committee at its 108th session, the 6th Culture and Information Committee at its 114th session Based on results of this study, the conclusions are suggested as follows. First, the purpose of Korea University of Technology establishment was not to be clearly presented. Second, the educational goals and systems were not to be clearly presented. Third, the name of `Open University` was not good as the name of Korea University of Technology.

The objective of this research is to analyze the general education of the art colleges in Korea, to point out the problems and to present a desirable direction. Does the general education of the art colleges in Korea foster ’the cultivated professional artist'? To attain the objective, concepts of culture, educated man, general education, art, and artist were analyzed. As well, general education of the art colleges were analyzed in view of education principals. The research results revealed many problems in the area of educational goals, curriculum, educational system and support systems. The research showed that the present system would not sufficiently nurture 'the cultivated professional artist’. The general education of the art college must be improved in various areas.

The objective of this study is to analyze the concept of art education, to point out the problems and to present a desirable direction. To attain the objective, concepts of art, education, art education were analyzed. The study results revealed many problems in purpose, essence, method, relevance of art and education in art education, for example, the word of 'art education is used 'education of art', 'aesthetic education, ‘education through art’,'education for art’. The study showed that art education should be the education for the whole man through art.
