1. Three influenza virus strains were isolated during the epidemic in Korea last January to May 1972. The isolated influenza virus strains were experimented for their antigenic analysis by serologicaly and obtained results are as follows; 1) As shown in Table 1, the isolated virus strains were indicated more reactivity with A/Hong Kong/68(H3N2) strain than with A/Korea/71(H3N2) strain. 2) Further confirmation was made by The WHO World Influenza Centre, London and registed as A/Korea/72 (H3N2), 2. Serological experiment was carried out against Korean inhabitants by age groups with using influ enza virus A/Hong Kong/68(H3N2) and its prototypes after epidemic season in 1972 and the obtained results are as follows; 1) Hemagglutination Inhibition (H. I) antibody positive rates in 379 serum specimens; A/Hong Kong/8/68 (H3N2)........96.3% A/Aichi/2/68 (H3N2)........97.9% A/Korea/1/71 (H3N2)........75.5% A/Korea/1/72 (H3N2)........67.8% (Table 2) 2) As shown in Fig 1, higher H-I antibody positive rates and titers were obtained in all age groups aginst A/Hong Kong/68 (H3N2) and A/Aichi/68 (H3N2) than the recent epidemic strains such as A/Korea/71 (H3N2) or A/Korea/72 (H3N2).

Since 1968, A/Hong Kong/68(H3N2) new pandemic strain of influenza virus type A isolated at Hong Kong, many new antigenic variants of Hong Kong/68 have appeared in most areas of the world. In Korea there were influenza epidemics by it's variants from Febrauary to May in the years '69, '71, '72, '74, '75, '76, and '77 and identificated by means of hemagglutination-inhibition (H-I), neuraminidase-inhibition (N-I), and double immunodiffusion (DID) tests. Also influenza type A and B virus strains were isolated during the epidemic seasons in 1977. The epidemic and isolated virus strains in Korea from 1968 to 1977 were experimented by antigenic analysis. Summarized results were as follows.

The purpose of this report is to present the seasonal differences of Japanese Encephalitis virus infection ate and the aspect of viremia state among the 30 sentinel piglets (10 piglets each in Seoul, Pusan and Sintaein) and Japanese Encephalitis virus isolations were attempted to each piglets and also H-I antibody iters were observed with regular intervals. The epidemiological relationship among epidemics in human, Culex tritaeniorhychus mosquitoes population and antibody distribution of the pig sera collected from slaugbter houses and sentinel piglets were observed. The obtained results were as follows: 1) H-I antibody titer of sentinel pigs Seoul area: Survey was carried out bleeding from Juae to September. H-I antibody titer showed 0% of positive rate. It was considered that the study place was not suitable. Pusan area: June 1: positive rate-78% (It was considered as maternal immunity) August 8: positive rate-0% (No more maternal immunity showed) August 14: positive rate 90% August 20: positive rate-100% 2) Antibody survey of pigs from slaughter houses. H-I antibody rate showed as follows: Seoul area: August 6-24% August 21-56% August 28-92% Pusan area: Auguat 20-37.5% August 26-100% Chola-puk Do: August 1-12.5% August 22-100% 3) J.E. virus isolation from a sentinel pig J.E. virus was isolated from one pig out of 10 sentinel pigs in Pusan on August 6, 1971. The results of antigenic analysis on isolated J.E. virus strain (SP 80671) through the test of hemagglutination inhibition reaction are more similar to JaGAr 01 than Nakayama-NIH (Table 5). Optimal pH range is that Nakayama-NIH is 6. 4, JaGAr 01 is 6. 6 and SP 80671 is 6.4-6.6(Table 6) 4) It is learnt from the study in Pusan area that soon after reaching the peak of population density of C.t. adults, pigs appeared vireiga and J.E. antibody, and then human infection of J.E. virus followed. It may be said that forecasting period for prevention J.E. in human is when pig antibody rate reached 50%. 5) J.E. virus was not isolated from C.t. mosquitoes (25 pools) collected from Seoul, Pusan and Chola Puk-Do.
산업폐수열원 이용 증기압축식/흡수식 하이브리드 히트펌프 시스템의 시뮬레이션

In this study, in order to utilize the waste heat of industrial wastewater in the range of the relatively low temperature of 40∼50℃ as a heat source, a hybrid heat pump system was considered by computer simulation method. In the simulation, an absorber, desorber and solution heat exchanger were modelled by UA values while a compressor and pump performance were specified by an isentropic efficiency. Simulation results show that the performance of hybrid heat pump can be up to 80% higher than that of conventional R134a heat pump when it makes a process hot water of 90℃ while the wastewater is cooled down to 20℃. As the absorber pressure increases, the system performance and desorber pressure increase with a favorable effect of a compressor discharge gas temperature drop.
열펌프 직렬운전을 통한 근사-로렌츠 사이클 구현에 의한 성능 향상 가능성

In this study, the performance enhancement potential of an approximate-Lorenz cycle, which was implemented by series operation of two heat pumps, was investigated by comparison between the performance of parallel operation and that of series operation, for a heating supply temperature of 60°C. To fairly compare the performance of each configuration, the inlet temperatures and the flow rates of both the heat source and the load were fixed. Heat transfer and pressure drop characteristics were also considered to achieve more realistic comparison. Results show that a heating COP of the approximate-Lorenz cycle, which was implemented by series operation of two heat pumps, is about 5% higher than that of the parallel operation under the simulation conditions considered in the present study.

In this study, an absorption power cycle was investigated and optimized by simulation method. An absorption power cycle can be used for the utilization of a low-temperature heat sources such as geothermal and industrial waste heat that are not hot enough to produce steam. The sea/river water can be considered as a cooling media. A steady-state simulation model was developed to analyze and optimize its performance. The model contains a turbine, a pump, an expansion valve and heat exchangers. The turbine and pump were modelled by an isentropic efficiency. The effect of the ammonia fraction at the separator inlet and the maximum cycle pressure on the cycle performance is investigated in detail.
히트펌프 직렬운전에 의한 성능 향상 가능성에 관한 연구

본 연구에서는 두 대의 히트펌프를 이용하여 60℃의 난방 공급을 하는 경우에 대하여, 병렬운전을 할 경우의 성능과 직렬운전을 할 경우의 성능을 서로 비교함으로써, 직렬운전에 의한 성능 향상 가능성을 연구하였다. 두 경우의 성능을 공정하게 비교하기 위하여, 히트펌프를 구성하는 열교환기의 전열면적을 고정하였으며, 부하측 및 열원측의 입구 유량 및 온도 조건을 고정하였다. 또한, 보다 현실적인 결과를 위하여 열교환기 내 열전달 및 압력강하 특성을 고려하였다. 시뮬레이션 결과, 직렬운전 시스템의 난방성능계수가 병렬운전 시스템의 난방 성능계수에 비해 본 연구의 시뮬레이션 조건 하에서 약 5% 향상 될 수 있음을 관찰하였다. In this study, the potential performance enhancement in a dual heat pump system through series operation was investigated by a comparison between the performance for parallel and series operation for a heating supply temperature of 60°C. To compare the performance of each configuration fairly, the heat transfer surface area of the heat exchangers was fixed. The inlet temperatures and the flow rates of the heat source and the load were also fixed. In addition, the heat transfer and pressure drop characteristics of the working fluids were considered to achieve a more realistic comparison. The results show that the heating coefficient of performance (COP) of the series configuration is approximately 5% higher than that of the parallel configuration under the simulation conditions considered in the present study.
