Certain viruses have been shown to parasitize tumors and cause necrosis of the tumors. It has also been demonstrated that virus III causes suppression or early regression of the rabbit fibroma. The present paper describes the results of a study on the oncolytic action of Japanese encephalitis virus (JEV) against the rabbit fibroma caused by virus. 1. JEV exerted some influences on the fibroma formation of rabbit and showed remarkable oncolytic action. In the control group the fibroma took a course for four to five weeks but was cured after only two weeks in the inoculated one with JEV. 2 In the case where inoculated JEV intramuscularly in day 0 after inoculation with fibroma virus the oncolytic action appeared severer than in the case of day 3 or day 5. And there was no effect in the case injected with heat inactivated JEV. 3. In the case injecting the JEV intravenously or intracutaneously there was also same effect as in the intramuscular injection. It could also confirm that once recovered from rabbit fibroma there was no production of it due to the aquirement of immunity though reinjected the fibroma virus. 4. The experimental group which inoculated a plenty of JEV to the fibroma mass directly showed the rapid recovery as compared with the non-inoculated one. And in the case injecting intramus cularly the JEV in the period of 24 hours after inoculation of fibroma virus it was capable of the detection of plentiful JEV from fibroma mass even in the course of day 10.

This study is a review of characteristics of the Sino-Japanese compound words in writing by Namseon Choi during his studies abroad in Japan who had a great influence on the future generations of international Korean students in Japan as a pioneering intellectual. The summary is as follows: first, it was confirmed that Namseon Choi published his writing in the bulletin for international Korean students in Japan, and, most notably, he used the Sino-Japanese compound words in translation articles. Next, the analysis results of technical terms of Sino-Japanese compound words in his writing showed that the technical terms included mostly terms in the fields of science (physics, astronomy, chemistry, and biology), math and geography. Finally, it was shown that he referred to or published the articles he had translated in the journal named ‘Boy’. As shown above, he continued writing using his experience and literary activities in Japan after he had returned to Korea. Considering the influence on modern Korean literature he had, he is considered as having acted as a medium of introducing the Japanese to Korean.

Born in France in 1814, Catalan was a university professor of mathematics in his manhood and a member of the Belgian Royal Academy. Catalan wrote about 400 pieces of treatises in the field of mathematics, and he won the Belgian Academy prize for "on the Transformation of Variables on the Multiplex Integral Calculus" in 1840. He showed a distinctive quality in the interpreting "Solution d'um Problemede Probabilite Relatif au jeu de vencontre" of his many treatises, using definite difference equation.

It is possible to solve the four species; addition, subtraction, multiplication and division in allrational numbers, because the above four species are not solyed with natural numbers. If there is problem in the four species; subtraction, multiplication and division, it is satis factory with all rational number. In the problem of the continuous number, it is not enough to solve the algebraical eguation χ^2+1=0 with the actual number Gauss found the complex number style expanding the actual number style. Based on this result, an algebracial equation of n order had root of n number certainly. This is basic theorem of algebra and the complex number was expressed with vector.

Bernard Malamud 소설에 나타난 실존성과 새 삶의 추구 : A New Life를 중심으로 Centering on A New Life

This dissertation aims to assess the existential inclination and the pursuit of a new life by studying Malamud's major novel. Especially because this study deals on human's basic and common existential problems, this will open a new horizon of Malamud's work and establish his achievements. Since his literary achievements are rooted in tile Jewish heritage and American tradition, Malamud's intellectual sources and tile basis of his moral view are traced in the Introduction. In chapter Ⅱ the existential inclination in Malamud's novel is discussed. First of all, thinking that Malamud was influenced by existential philosophy, I traced the existential inclination in this chapter. In his works Malamud deals with the theme of suffering. He regards it as optimistic because learning love through suffering is the way to be moral. Suffering becomes Malamud's main concern. The hardship from suffering and love by trial leads his heroes to quest of selves. I surveyed how the hero keep his ethical attitudes right and change his passive lives into active ones. Especially, I emphasized to examine the change of real existential body of hero. In chapter Ⅲ the hero' pursuits of a new life are discussed. A New Life suggests the social satire and the pursuit of a new life. Although the selfing of A New Life is not Yiddish, Levin is portrayed as an image of a traditional schlemiel. He is a comic buffoon destined to be a material failure but a moral success. Like other Malamud's heroes. Levin is a modified modern antihero as the image of success in failure and failure in success. In conclusion, the author assesses the existential inclination and the pursuit of a new life of Malamud's novel. His moral earnestness toward humanity is consistent throughout. His central concerns such as myth, suffering, Jew love, schlemiel, and a new life are all related to his humanistic morality. The Jew is a metaphor of the good man struggling for a meaningful existence even though he is faced with the various dehumanized pressures of this world. He extensively reveals the dignity of the human spirit searching for existential inclination and moral growth in the face of hardship, injustice, and the existential anguish of life in our troubled time. This is the reason why I regard him as existential humanist or real moralistic writer.
