정보통신 기술의 발전은 각종 영상, 음성, 문자정보의 디지털화와 이들 정보의 통합적 취급 및 이들 정보가 다채로운 조합으로 전송되는 것을 가능하게 하여 방송과 통신이 하나의 공간으로 결합하는 것이 가능하게 하고 있다. 인터넷 방송은 이러한 정보통신 기술의 발달에 따라 등장한 새로운 서비스 영역으로 공중파 방송에 비하여 그 진입 장벽이 거의 없고, 이용자가 원하는 시간과 장소에서 언제든지 정보를 이용할 수 있으며, 컴퓨터를 기반으로 하는 멀티미디어 기술을 바탕으로 하고 있으므로 광법위한 정보 검색, 저장 기슐과 어울려 다양한 형태의 부가 내용을 전달과 이를 원하는 대로 가공할 수 있다는 점을 장점으로 가지고 있다. 인터넷 방송의 앞으로의 발전가능성이 무한대에 가깝다 할 수 있겠고, 그러한 발전과 더붙어 저작인접권자와의 관계조명이라는 문제가 새롭게 대두하고 있다. 또한 인터넷은 국경이 없는 매체이므로 인터넷 방송에 대한 보호 문제가 국제적 문제로 대두할 가능성도 있다고 하겠다. 저작권법은 제1조에서 이 법은 저작자의 권리와 이에 인접하는 권리를 보호하고 저작물의 공정한 이용을 도모함으로써 문화의 향상발전에 이바지함을 목적으로 한다고 되어 있다. 저작인접권자와 인터넷 방송을 하는 서비스 업자와의 관계도 저작자의 권리 보호라는 측면과 문화의 향상발전이라는 양쪽의 이념을 균형 있게 발전시키는 가운데 조화롭게 모색되어야 하며, 이런 방향으로 규제가 이루어져야 한다. 다만, 정보통신기술의 발전에 따라 새로운 영역이 등장에 대하여 기존의 제도나 법률이 부용하지 못하는 문제가 생기지 않도록 적절히 대응할 필요가 있다라고 보인다.

Schwannoma is a common soft tissue tumor, but it appears to be rare among the spindle cell mesencymal tumors of the gastrointestinal tract. Gastrointestinal Schwannomas (GIS) are rare and most of them originate in the stomach or the small bowel. GIS of the colon is extremely rare. The most important issue to be addressed for this type of tumor is the difficulty in making the correct preoperative diagnosis. Less than 10% of cases have been diagnosed as schwannoma preoperatively. A 58-year-old man was found to have a 3.5㎝ sized submucosal transverse colon tumor on the preoperative colonoscopy, abdominal CT and MRI. Wedge resection was done and the submucosal mass was diagnosed as schwannoma on the immunochemical staining. The immunochemical results were negative staining for CD 117(KIT) and CD 34 and positive staining for S-100 protein, which is all consistent with schwannoma. We report here on the first case of colonic schwannoma in Korea, along with a review of the literature.

Purpose: This study was performed to evaluate the contribution of appendiceal computed tomography (CT) in the more accurate diagnosis of acute appendicitis and decrease in the rate of negative appendectomies. Methods: Between May and August 2005, 146 patients with right lower quadrant (RLQ) abdominal pain and tenderness were diagnosed using appendiceal CT. The appendiceal CT scans were performed with contrast media in the abdominal and pelvic areas. 7 ㎜ slice scans were taken both before and after the contrast media injection, with a time delay. The control group was comprised of 99 patients, who were also checked by abdominal CT or ultrasonography, between December 2004 and April 2005, with the data analyzed retrospectively. Results: In the study group, 85 of the 146 cases were diagnosed with acute appendicitis on appendiceal CT, and had undergone an appendectomy, including 42 men (mean age 39.9 yr) and 43 women (mean age 44.6 yr). The sensitivity and specificity of appendiceal CT in acute appendicitis were 95.3 and 98.4%, respectively. There were 4 (4.7%) negative appendectomy cases; 2 in men and 2 in women. The control group conprised of 47 men and 52 women. There were 13 (13.1%) negative appendectomy cases; 4 in men and 9 in women. Conclusion: The routine use of appendiceal CT, in patients with RLQ abdominal pain and tenderness, resulted in a significant decrease in the negative appendectomy rate.
