In order to monitor the health of large structure or bridge, it is essential to obtain reliable data from various sensors and actuators in real time, which are to be input into computer for early warning and damage identification. Currently, such information is acquired via wire or semi-wireless system. Using these systems invoke signal interference among various cables, so that acquired data are not reliable in sensitive manner. To solve these problems, this paper proposes a new self-obtained wireless monitoring system to gather and process data from field infrastructure for analysis and diagnosis. This self-obtained monitoring system consists of a transceiver system which contains sensor-remote transceiver and main transceiver, and data analysis system. In this system, spread spectrum method is adapted to prevent adjacent channel interference and a self-obtained concept is introduced to solve cabling problems. Therefore, the new concept of this system makes it possible to achieve reliable, and also easy to relocate sensors or actuators.
