대인 외상 경험에 대한 의도적 반추와 직업정체성의 관계에서 외상 후 성장의 매개효과 : 상담자를 중심으로

목적 본 연구는 흔히 상처 입은 치료자 이론(Nouwen, 1999) 통해 대표되는 가설, 즉, 대인 외상을 경험한 상담자가 외상 후 성장을 통해 높은 수준의 직업 정체성을 얻게 되는 과정에 대해 탐색해 보고자 하였다. 이에 본 연구의 목적은 상담자의 대인 외상 경험에 대한 의도적 반추가 직업정체성에 미치는 영향에서 외상 후 성장의 매개효과를 살펴보는 것이다. 방법 이를 위해 시⋅군⋅구 청소년상담센터와 같은 공공 상담 기관, Wee센터, 초⋅중⋅고등학교, 사설 상담 기관, 교정직 관련 기관, 사회복지시설, 대학부설 상담 기관 등의 상담 기관에 근무하고 있는 상담자 280명의 자료를 수집하였다. 수집한 자료에 대해서는 PASW Statistics 18.0, SPSS PROCESS macro 3.5를 이용하여 기술통계, 상관 분석 및 다중회귀분석을 실시하였다. 외상 후 성장 변인의 매개 효과에 대해서는 총합 변인으로서의 단순매개효과를 분석 하였고, 추가적으로 외상후 성장 변인의 하위 요인들을 각각의 매개 요인으로 설정하여, 병렬다중매개모형 분석도 실시하였다. 결과 우선 상담자의 대인 외상 경험에 대한 의도적 반추와 직업정체성과의 관계에서 외상 후 성장을 총점 변인으로 사용하였을 때, 외상 후 성장 변인의 부분 매개 효과가 나타났다. 외상 후 성장의 4개의 하위 변인(자기 지각의 변화, 새로운 가능성 발견, 대인관계 깊이 증가, 영적, 종교적 흥미 증가) 각각을 매개 변인으로 병렬 매개 효과 분석을 실시한 결과, 외상 후 성장의 하위 요인 중 ‘자기지각의 변화’에 의한 부분 매개 효과만이 유의하게 확인되었다. 결론 상담자의 대인 외상 경험에 대한 의도적 반추가 직업정체성에 미치는 영향에서 외상 후 성장은 매개 효과가 있다. 또한. 상담자의 대인 외상에 대해 의도적 반추는 외상 후 성장의 4가지 하위 측면과 정적으로 연관되나, 그 중에서도 ‘자기 지각의 변화’만이 유일하게 상담자로서의 직업정체성에 유의미한 영향을 주었다. Objectives This study aims to test the hypothesis that counselors who ruminated their past traumatic experience deliberately have higher tendency to achieve post-traumatic growth(PTG), and it may help counselors professional growth, as represented by ‘wounded healer(Nouwen, 1999)’ hypothesis. Thus, the purpose of this study was to examine the mediating effect of PTG in the relationship between deliberate rumination on interpersonal trauma and job identity among counselors. Methods To this end, the researcher collected and analyzed the data of 280 counselors, who have worked at diverse settings such as youth counseling centers, schools, prisons/youth correctional centers, and university counseling centers. Descriptive analysis, correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis were conducted using PASW Statistics 18.0, SPSS PROCESS macro 3.5 programs. Regarding the mediating effect of the PTG, PTG variable was entered with the total score in the analysis, and its simple mediating effect was tested in the relationship between rumination on interpersonal trauma and job identity of the counselors. In addition, the mediating effects of sub-factors of PTG seperately were tested in the same model. Results As a result of the analysis, it was found that the deliberate rumination on interpersonal trauma had a significant positive effect on job identity, and PTG was partially and significantly mediated the relationship between those two variables. When four sub-factors of PTG was entered separatedly as mediating factors in the same analysis, only ‘self perception change’ significantly mediated the relationship between deliberate rumination on interpersonal trauma and job identity. Conclusions These results suggest that PTG have partial mediating effect in the relationship between deliberate rumination on interpersonal trauma and jon identity among counselors. In addition, counselors who ruminated their interpersonal trauma deliberately have higher tendency to all four sub-aspect of PTG, but only ‘self-perception changes’ of PTG have significant effect on counselors job identity.
