        면사의 리이강력 추정에 관한 연구

        Summing up the results of research up to now, the autors can classify several equations for predicting the lea strength of cotton yarns from fiber properties into two broad categories; i) linear-multiple-regressions. in which the individual fiber properties are treated as the independent variables, and ii) curvilinear equations, in which the fiber properties are combined into one integrated index. One of the difficulties in these equations is that no application beyond the specific ranges of count to which particular cottons have been spun is possible. This study has been carried out with a view to rationalizing the prediction of lea strength from Bogdan's equation by means of constructing a correlation function between the intrinsic-strength parameter P, and such fiber properties as fiber length L, fiber strength S, fiber-length uniformity U, and fiber fineness F which are known to have an effect on the yarn strength. The following function was derived; where C, α, β, γ, and δ are constants.

        The inferiority of the variance estimates of synthetic staple fibre diameter when compared to those from the wool tops implies that a special calibration of air flow apparatus is required for synthetic staple fibres. The rapidity and accuracy in the determination of the fibre diameter variance estimate are the main features of the methods developed in this study. Additional work is desirable to provide and improved stream of input fibres to the throwing device.

        국산 Acrylic 섬유의 방적성에 관한 연구

        This investigation aims to evaluate the quality of high bulky domestic acrylic tops by comparison of spinnability and mechanical properties of the yarn with which of foreign acrylic tops. The results are: 1. Domestic acrylic tops are acceptable in breaking strength, uneveness, count variation of the yarn but it shows higher shrinkage variation than foreign products more or less. 2. The adquate spinning limit of 3 denier 8 inch staple is considered 60 in metric count. 3. No significant friction on coefficient difference between domestic and foreign products were found and sharp increase in hydrodynamic friction is shown at the speeds of about 10 m/min.

        드래프트 조건이 조사의 물리적 성질에 미치는 영향 (III)

        In order to investigate the linear and quadratic effects of drafting conditions i.e., twist, draft ratio, and roller gauge on the physical properties of several roving i.e., drafting force, tensile strength, elongation, and evenness, statistical methods such as 33 factorial design and multiple linear regression analysis have been used. The draft ratio was the main factor influencing the physical properties of roving. All the drafting conditions influenced the physical properties in a linear manner for all the specimens, but in a quadratic manner, showed partially different results and a carded roving was less significant than other combed roving. Among the physical properties, the elongation was not influenced by the drafting conditions in two-factor interaction. In the multiple linear regression analysis, the twist gave a negative effect on the evenness, but positive on others. The draft ratio and roller gauge gave a positive effect on the evenness, but negative on others.

        In order to estimate the variance of fibre diameter from a given sample of fibres cut to an identical length, a fibre thrower, using centrifugal force, and an appropriate template have been devised. An optimum cut length was found to be 10mm long. The new method provides satisfactory weight-biased samples when the optimum cut length was employedd.

        편성물의 원통형 좌굴에 관한 연구

        This is a study on the application of cylindrical shell buckling to weft plain stitch-knit fabrics made of cotton ems, which are related to bending deformations affecting textile products, especially hands and wrinkles of shell type apparel. Following conclusions were derived from the studies of cylindrical shell buckling under axial compressions and from the considerations of applicability of buckling theories to typical orthotropic knit fabric supposing as thin homogenous isotropic shell. 1. An apparatus for preparing and clamping specimens, and experimental methods were designed to be possible to measure cylindrical shell buckling properties under the action of uniform axial compression with a general strength tester. 2. Comparing the tendencies of critical buckling stresses to the various yarn numbers and cover factors of weft knit fabrics with the theoretical critical buckling stresses, the absolute values were found to be about 60℃ of theoretical values. 3. Bending stiffnesses calculated with the young's modulus obtained from buckling experiments were found to be fitted approximately with the results form pure bending tester.

        Instead of obtaining the whole distribution with a sophisticated instrument, a variance estimate for the fibre diameter may be determined - using weight - biased samples obtained from specially designed test method (previously reported in part 1) - with the existing air flow apparatus. The coefficients of variation of diameters estimated by the new methods, empirical and theorytical under the normality assumption of the fibre diameter, are in excellent agreement with the comparable values obtained by the projection microscope. For the purpose of increasing the precision and accuracy of fineness test with the air flow apparatus, a spacer technique has been successfully adopted.

        유기용제 전처리 Poly(ethylene terephthalate) Film의 염색성(I) -팽윤성과 염착량의 관계-

        Poly(ethlene terephthalate)(PET) film was treated with organic solvent in order to improve the dyeing properties. The effect of organic soment pretreatment on dyeing proerties of PET film has been explained in terms of dyeing transiltion temperature and degree of swelling. The results of the investigation are as follows. (1) The degree of swelling of PET film with organic solvent pretreatments are decreased in the order of benzyl alcohol>monochlorobenzene>perchloroethylene>toluene>n-butanol. (2) The dyeing transition temperatures (TD) of PET film are lowered by organic solvent pretreatments and the degree of lowering is proportional to degrees of swelling. (3) The increased dye uptake of PET film, from which solvents were removed after swelling, is in linear relationship with degrees of swelling or solvent contents(mole/kg). (4) The PET films containing solvent have more dye uptake than films, from which solvent removed, due to carrier action of solvent contained and benzylalcohol and monochlorobebzene are especially effective. (5) The more dye uptake in C.I. Disperse Orange 3 than C.I. Disperse Violet I Was recognized for all solvent being used.

        Studies on Compressional Phenomena of the Warp Knitted Fabrics

        평면상태의 천을 다면적으로 변형시키게 되면 torsion, shell 및 plate buckling과 같은 다면성의 압축성이 동반하게 될 것이다. 이와 같은 압축력을 buckling하중이라 한다. 본 연구는 심플렉스 경편포의 압축 plate buckling하중의 이론화에 대한 연구로 편포의 특성치와 편성조건들을 인자들로 하여 코오스 및 웨일별로 실험치와 비교하면서 탄성 또는 비탄성영역별로 이론화식을 추구하였다. An attempt to estimate the compressional buckling force of simplex warp knitted fabrics is made by establishing a theoretical model of Simplex structure in terms of yarn properties and lapping tracers. Theoretical calculation is based on the assumption that plate buckling forces depend upon the two phase structures of the yarns, e.g., elastic phase and inelastic phase. The theoretical formulae for estimating the plate compressional buckling loads are derived for wale and course directions. A good correlation is nearly observed between theory and experimental results.
