This study is a numerical study using Discrete Element Method to consider multiple contact between toothbrush and teeth and Worm-like Chain model to model a flexible toothbrush. Achard wear equation was used to calculate the wear on the tooth surface according to the brushing speed and force applied to the brush. Three different brushing speed and three different force applied to the brush were selected as factors affecting tooth wear. The force applied to the brush was adjusted by the depth of pressing the bristles. In conclusion, the force applied to the brush had a greater effect on the tooth abrasion than the speed of brushing and the abrasion was concentrated between the teeth.

The washing is daily routine of people all over the world. According to Sinner’s circle, temperature, time, mechanical action and chemical action are critical factors for washing. The mechanical action is greatly influenced by the amount of fabrics and consumed power. This study aims to explore the relationship between the amount of fabrics, consumed power and washability. The experimental method is used to figure out correlation between consumed power, the amount of fabrics and washability.
