Vol.22 No.6
This paper proposes a three-level LLC resonant converter using integrated magnetics (IM). Given that the switch voltage stress of the proposed converter is guaranteed to be half of the input voltage, the switching losses can be greatly reduced, thereby benefitting the high-frequency operation. To reduce the volume of reactive components such as transformers, high-frequency driving and planar core are applied. However, two resonant inductors and one transformer are required because of the three-level structure and the limited leakage inductance of the planar transformer for the resonant operation. Therefore, the effect of volume reduction is not very large. In order to solve these drawbacks, this paper proposes a new IM that integrates all magnetic elements used in the proposed three-level resonant converter by using the magnetizing inductor as a resonant inductor. The experimental results are presented by conducting a theoretical analysis of a prototype with 350 W to 800 kHz.
1930년 이전 미스 반 데어 로에 주택 디자인 전략의 발전적 전개에 관한 연구

Mies van der Rohe's works before 1930 has been understood as having the two contrary characteristics, one was the stylistic and conservative trait before 1920 and the other was his typical modernist trait after 1920 which was taken in radical aesthetics of architectural Avant-Garde. However, it is the fact that there was a developmental progress in the series of his houses before 1930, because this kind of dichotomy is based on the early 20th century modernist architectural theories. Therefore, this study aims at grasping the developmental progress of the design strategies in Mies's houses before 1930, especially focused on the compositional aspect between the plan and the mass in constructing a three-dimensional building from the two-dimensional house programs. To achieve this purpose, firstly, the two categories, which were the response of turn-of-the-century common house design strategies to construct a spatial organization from programs, were investigated, and Mies's strategies before 1920 were analyzed on the basis of the categories. Secondly, by the inquiry about attitudinal changes that occurred in the modernist design conditions, his strategies after 1920 were analyzed. Consequently, according to the chronological study, it was investigated that his tendency to maintain a compositionally firm relationship between the plan and the mass remained coherent, which meant that Mies's house design strategies before 1930 were not discontinuous but developmental.

Mies van der Rohe's works before 1920 have been inactively argued in comparison with his modernist works after 1920 and understood merely as the Schinkelisque neoclassic works which had influence on his overall classic taste. Thus, this study aims at understanding the design strategies of Mies's early works to redefine the architectural characteristics of his early career, especially focused on the stylistic aspects of his housing works. To achieve this purpose, the 19th century German historicism and architectural stylistic progress were investigated, and the four houses which had been actually constructed before 1920 were analyzed. The results are as follows : (1) The stylistic elements Mies used were not the past-referential but the reflections on the historicist agendas of the conservative architectural institutions and clients. (2) In those days he had his own modern agenda which conflicted with their agendas, so he expressed this dilemma by dual design strategies based on the historicist duality of individuality and community, and the 19th century German architectural duality of classic style and medieval style. (3) According to the analyses of the early houses, these strategies were identified as the use of contrastive stylistic motifs, the asymmetric balance, the confrontation of human and natural areas, and the duality of cubic block and skeleton frame.
