N/A Today s manufacturing environment involves great flexibility and fast change over in manufacturing systems. Development of control model and system for production has long been interested by researchers. Presented in the paper is a systematic approach to constructing a Petr-net model of production system and method for design a graphical model of a FMS(F1exible Manufacturing System) by using a new modeling tool which is called JR-net (Job Resource-relation net). A functional JR-net model is a directed graph in which the standard resources of FMS become nodes and job transfers among the resources become the arcs of the graph. The usefulness of the proposed JR-net modeling framework is demonstrated in terms of ease of model building, modeling power and ease of communication in the modeling of FMS. So, the procedure of modeling in the FMS is the same as current practice of FMS design and is based on the IOM (Integrated Object-oriented Modeling) paradigm Finally, the implementation issues of JR-net modeling are addressed The approach is the IOM from JR-net modeling by Petri-net and the other is a development of IOM tool for FMS.

This paper is to analyze and provide the managerial requirements for the successful implementation of TPM. It tries to identify the determining factors for the success and reasons for the failure of TPM, based upon the research of a surveyand an empirical study through the years in Korea. The findings are such that the successful implementation of TPM depends largely upon how top management perceives TPM and how the firm responds to the changes of organization and of the workers role to adapt this new concept of work. It is necessary that TPM is perceived as a means to achieve not only the maintenance requirements, but also the company`s business objectives. Each company should construct and develop its own model and procedures to drive the effort for TPM implementation.

N/A This paper presents the design, implementation and evaluation of an object-oriented simulator in an AMC operating on pull production control concept. The integration of decouplers into the AMC is also described. With the application of decouplers, the model of object-oriented simulator for control creates a revers flow between parts and information allows the minimum inventory level for production of AMC. Of particular interest is the design of internal object data structure and message passing algorithm to the object that closely resembles the actual activity of AMC with pull production control. The object-oriented simulator has been designed such that it can be run in simulation mode but can easily accommodate real-time event driven control of physical cells. The job sequence of the AMC system is modeled by object-oriented simulator with a time constraint to generate real time signals. The results of this paper can be applied to a AMC consisting many robots and conveyors.

N/A Capital investment in Flexible Manufacturing Systems(FMSs) not only bring direct cost savings, but they also yield indirect cost savings and intangible benefits. In particular, the primary motivation for which many companies of today implement an FMS is to take an advantage of intangible benefits such as improved quality and enhanced flexibility, and therefore to stay in business. With more accurate and relevant measurement of manufacturing cost, the economic behavior of a FMS can be more reliably predicted without losing the overall system perspective. In this paper, a multiperiod system environment are developed to consider both operational and economic constraints. linear programming(LF9 models under an ABC and TCA As result, we found that ABC systems provided more useful cost information than TCA system in evaluating investments in a FMS.

The Successful strategy implementation is directly related with corporation survival. We can say that the successful strategy implementation which is well planned together with strategic planning is more important factor than other strategy one for corporation survival. The strategy management would be divided into two. The first stage is strategic planning and the second one is strategy implementation. Most of the companies are easily making a strategic planning with elaborated and well advanced strategy tool but they have difficulty in implementing the strategy. With regard to this matter, recently the performance indicator for strategy implementation in academic and corporation has been briskly studied. However the previous researches on strategy performance indicator for implementation has not been integrated and cause-effect relationship among variables. So, We review the prior studies and point out the problem from them. As a substitute of prior studies, We proposed a strategy performance model and indicators. Also we empirically tested the strategy model and indicators.
