교육부의 학생오케스트라, 문화예술진흥원의 꿈의 오케스트라 등 정부 및 관 주도의 오케스트라 교육 프로그램이 추진되고 있는 현재, 초등현장에서 오케스트라를 담당하고 있는 교사들은 여러 가지 어려움을 겪고 있다. 이 연구는 오케스트라 교육의 현장 정착을 위하여 초등학교에서 오케스트라를 지도하고 있는 교사들이 보다 효율적으로 업무를 추진 할 수 있는 수요자 기반 매뉴얼을 개발하고자 추진되었다. 문헌연구를 통하여 초등오케스트라의 교육적 의의 및 특성을 알아보았으며 FGI, 설문서, 및 비형식적 인터뷰 등을 통하여 교사들이 필요로 하는 오케스트라 매뉴얼의 내용을 추출하였다. 그 결과 초등학교 오케스트라의 철학적 기반과 교사의 역량으로 대분하여 초등학교 오케스트라 지휘자를 위한 매뉴얼을 개발 제시하였다. The main purpose of this study is to develop the user-needs based field manual for the director of elementary school orchestra. Review of related literatures, research materials and books, survey, and focus group interview were employed as methods of this study. A questionnaire consisting of 20 research questions was developed and administered to 30 elementary school orchestra directors to find out the specific needs of them. The findings and results of two methods became the main source of deciding the contents of the field manual for the elementary school orchestra directors. As a result, the contents of the manual are delineated as follow:A. A philosophical foundation of elementary school orchestra:1. the main purpose of government supported orchestral programEl Sistema, lower-income group, constructing of the infrastructure for Arts and Culture education 2. the background information and purpose of El Sistemaabundant life through a variety of experiences, crime prevention, increasing of entrance rate, promoting of Arts and Culture education, powerful nation about classical music 3. Educational benefits of orchestral activities on elementary school studentscreativity, perseverance, teamwork, dealing with risks, self expression, intellectual benefits, emotional benefits 4. Characteristics of the elementary school orchestraincomprehension of instrumental pieces, gap of skill among members, imbalance organization, participation of the parents B. Capacity that are needed for orchestra director of elementary school 1. Musical capacity:a. music theorytempo, dynamics b. knowledge of orchestral instrumentsstring, wood, brass, percussion c. conducting techniquenecessity, role of conductor, basic positions, how to grip baton, conducting techniques d. technique of orchestration & arrangementa note on arrangement, how to arrange, example of orchestral music e. score reading skillorder of writing score, instrument name by languages, transposing instrument 2.
