The Anti-Collision System to prevent accidents between moving drilling equipment is an important component of the drilling control system. The system consists of communication module, anti-collision algorithms, override functions and visualization module. To check the validity of the anti-collision algorithm, all systems associated with the system must be activated, which results in a number of inconveniences in the development process. This paper presents a simulator to facilitate the work related to the development of Anti-Collision System. The functions of the drilling equipment related to the pipe connecting and tripping process and the systems linked to the Anti-Collision System in the drilling control system are analyzed to derive the requirements of the simulator. Based on this analysis, the framework of the simulator is constructed and motion of equipment is produced using external input devices. The GUI is used to view the current status of the equipment, and the operation of the Anti-Collision System is verified using commercial visualization S/W. The validity of the developed simulator is verified with several collision scenarios.
