Cytohormonal patterns were evaluated on 123 lactating women, their lactating periods ranged from after delivery to the 18 months duration devided into 4 groups according to the lactating periods, and results summarized were as follows. Mean percentage and standard deviation of parabasal intermediate and superficial cells throughout the 4 groups were 6.31+-14.87%, 60.28+-24.45%, 33.41+-25.58% respectively. Parabasal cells showed marked decrement with prolongation of lactating period and on the contrary, superficial cells showed tendency of gradual increment and intermediate cells with stable tendency. The most frequent smear pattern observed was intermediate cell type with 44.7% and the least was parabasal cell type with 2.4%.

자궁적출술은 현재 가장 많이 사용되는 방법이며 환자가 자녀를 더 원할 경우에는 근종의 발생부위와 크기를 생각하여 자궁근종결절양출술을 시행하는데 이 경우에는 수술전에 질세포검사, 자궁경부의 생검을 시행해서 악성종양이 없음을 확인 해야한다. 1. The incidence of myoma was 10.4% of cases given major gynecological operation. 2. The incidence was highest in the age group between 40 and 49 years. 3. The average age of menarche in these cases was 16.1 years. 4. Intramural type was the most common (38.6%) with mixed type (24.8%) subserous type (19.0%) and submucous type (16.8%) in order of frequency. 5. The most common symptom was pain (71.3%) and the next were abnormal uterine bleeding (48.5%) and palpable mass (39%). Menonetrorrhagia was seen more frequency in the submucous type and dysmenorrhea in the intramural type. 6. Infertility was observed in 45.5% of to total cases (primary infertility ; 20.8% and secondary infertility ; 24.7%) with the highest infertility rate in subserous type. 7. The average hemoglobin value was 10.28 gm/dL. 8. Ovarian cyst and tumor were found in 28.7% of total cases and there were two cases of sarcoma and one cases of cervical carcinoma. 9. The secondary changes were found in 33.8% of cases. Hyaline degeneration was the most common secondary change (14.9%) and there were two cases of sarcomatous change. 10. Total abdominal hysterectomy was performed in 84.1% of all cases and myomectomy in 6 cases. 11. Postoperative morbidity was found in 20.8% of all cases. The most common morbidities were urinary tract infection wound infection and respiratory tract infection.
