During the fabrication of crystalline silicon solar cells, kerf-loss caused by the wire-sawing of silicon ingots to produce thin wafers inevitably limits the reduction of electricity production cost. To avoid the kerf- loss, direct growth of crystalline silicon wafers of 50-150 μm with a porous separation layer that can be mechanically broken during the exfoliation process, has been widely investigated. However, several issues including flattening of the surface after the exfoliation remain unsolved. In this work an alternative method that utilizes a water-soluble Sr3Al2O6 (SAO) sacrificial layer inserted between the mother substrate and the grown crystalline silicon layers is introduced. Polycrystalline silicon layers were grown on SAO/Si by plasma- enhanced CVD process and silicon membranes could be successfully obtained after the dissolution of SAO in the water. Same process could be applied to obtain flexible amorphous silicon membranes. Further research is being conducted to increase the size of the exfoliated wafer, which expects to reduce the production cost of crystalline silicon solar cells effectively.

본 논문은 서울시 종로구에 자리한 광장시장 ‘먹거리구간"의 사례를 통해 재래시장의 현대적 변용 과정에 대해 살핀 글이다. 광장시장의 동쪽 공간에 100여 개가 넘는 음식 노점과 식당이 밀집하여 있는 ’먹거리구간’은 급속한 도시화로 인해 시장의 상권이 확장되는 과정에서 형성되었다. 시장의 성장과 쇠퇴의 반복 속에 노점을 중심으로 성장하였고, 2000년대 이후에는 서울의 음식명소로 자리 잡았다. ‘먹거리구간’에는 서울의 급속한 도시화, 도시 상설 재래시장의 형성, 음식점의 증가, 오래된 메뉴와 새롭게 등장한 길거리음식, 2000년대 이후 재래시장의 관광지화와 음식명소의 성장 등 여러 요소가 뒤섞여 존재한다. 이러한 복합적 요소들은 1960년대 이후 서울 재래시장의 변화 과정과 그 양상을 살필 수 있는 대표적인 사례이다. 본 연구는 상인들을 주요 대상자로 한 인터뷰를 통해 광장시장의 변화와 ‘먹거리구간’의 형성 과정에 대해 살핀 결과물이다. 문헌 위주의 연구에서 밝힐 수 없는 생생한 자료를 확보하고자 하였으며, 현재의 현장감을 느끼기 위해 노력하였다. 시장의 역할을 넘어 관광지로 자리매김한 광장시장 ‘먹거리구간’을 면밀하게 살피는 작업은 재래시장 활성화를 위한 다양한 노력이 이뤄지고 있는 시점에서 주목할 필요가 있다. This case study presents an examination of the changes in traditional market by focusing on the ‘Food Alley’ of Gwangjang Market located in Jongno-gu, Seoul. The ‘Food Alley’ which has over a hundred of street stalls and restaurants in the east of Gwangjang Market was formed by the expansion of business district through rapid urbanization. It grew with street stalls amid repeated growth and decline in the market. After the 2000s, it became a famous spot for food in Seoul. In the ’Food Alley’, there is a variety of mixed factors : formation of city standing traditional market, centralization of restaurants, traditional food and newly developed street food through rapid urbanization of 1960s-70s in Seoul, and an increase of tourism around famous food spots within the traditional market after 2000s. So this research becomes one of the examples to study the formation and the aspect of transition of the menu on traditional market in Seoul. These complex elements are a representative example of how the traditional market in Seoul has changed since the 1960s. This research is the result of examining the changes in the Gwangjang Market and the process of forming a “Food Alley” through interviews with merchants as primary subjects. It was due to the intention to convey a sense of realism and liveliness of the current, which are unlikely to be found in literature-oriented research. Looking carefully at the food section of Gwangjang Market, known as not only representing the traditional markets but also as a well-known tourist spot, needs to be considered together at a time when various efforts are being made in order to revitalize the traditional market.
