We have defined leadership as the process of influencing the activities of an individual or a group in efforts toward goal achievement in a given situation. In essence, leadership involoes accomplishing goal with and through people. In the early days leaders were looked upon as individuals who are superior by virtue of the fact that they possess certain physical and socio-psychological characteristics on the basis of trait theories in leadership. But there is little conclusively predictability of leadership ability and managerial success. One of the most popular explanation concerning the emergent leadership phenominon is known as the situational theory. This view, unlike the trait theory, suggests that the situation makes the leader. So the purpose of this article is to seek how we promote the effectiveness of leadership on the situational theory. According to the model suggested by Fiedler, three major situational variables seem to determine whether a given situation is favorable or unfavorable to a leader (1) his personal relations with the members of his group (leader-member relations), (2) the degree of structure in the task that the group has been assigned to perform (task structure), and (3) the powor and authority that his position provides (position power). The most favorable situation for a leader to influence his group is one in which he is well liked by the members (good leader-member relations), has a powerful position(high position power), and is directing well defined job (high task structure). A new development in leadership theory and research is Path-Goal Theory. This theory is concerned primarily with how the leader influences the followers' perceptions of their work goals, and paths to goal accomplishment. The leader's behavior is viewed acceptable by followers when it is perceived to be imediately satisfying or instrumental in future satisfaction. It is motivational if it relates satisfaction to goal accomplishment and is supportive of goal-oriented behavior.

      • 學校組織에서 意思決定 過程의 合理的 接近

        朴會倫 관동대학교 1979 關大論文集 Vol.7 No.1

The aim of this thesis is to suggest the rational approaches to decision making in school organizations except colleges through the survey of literatures. Schools are professionally organized, All members involving principals and teachers make decisions on the basis of this professional job. The essential purposes of involving teachers at decison making process would be (1) to help school administrators make a better decison and (2) to enhance the likelyhood that the decision will be accepted by the gruop of teachers when it is made. The rules of thumb for the school administrators to use in identifying decisons in which teachers will want to share are relevance, expertise, and jurisdiction in relation to professional characteristics of their job. The school administrators for improving decison making process habe to consider the interpersonal factors in the school and to try to utilize the major techniques in decision making suggested below in conformity with the nature of the problem and the school situation. Discussion, information-seeking, democratic-centralist, parliamentarian, and participantdetermining, Computer System, Simulation Exercise, Team system etc.-

      • 敎授-學習過程에 있어서 情報科學的 接近

        朴會倫 관동대학교 1976 關大論文集 Vol.4 No.1

Cybernetic Approach in Teaching-Learning Process "Cybernetics" conined by Norbert Wiener is concerned with information theory as control and communication. In involves classification, storage, transit, and feedback of information. In referring to the link between communication and control, Wiener emphasizes that feedback is essential. The concepts of cybernetics may bear on the teaching-learning process in several ways. So this article is focused on whether the concepts that are basic to cybernetics and to information theory have any relevance to teaching learning process. It is clear that the teacher and the students are linked in a system in which reciprocal communication is of utmost importance. Any form of information is subject to disorganization in transit. That information may be dissipated and not gained is, as we have seen, the cybernetics form of the second law of thermodynamics. In control and communication we are always fighting nature's tendency to degrade the organized and to destroy the meaninglul in teaching-learning process; the tendency for entropy to increase. Educators should not be surprised at this natural tendency being in action in the classroom. Education tends not only to aid the increase of entropy but to cause entropy to devrease. Teachers must consider whether the teacher-pupil or teacher-class system could be studied from the standpoint of this cybernetics as has been suggested in this article. When such efforts are concentrated in education, the expected form of student's performance is being built.

      • 組織內의 小集團行動과 問題解決을 위한 接近

朴會倫 淸州敎育大學校 1982 論文集 Vol.19 No.-

This thesis is focused on the importance of the small group within the broader topic of organizational behavior. The 'nature of normative behavior in groups was discussed in relation to such factors as roles, group norms, conformity, cohesiveness, and group performance. One of the important facts investigated through literatures has to do with the effectiveness of the group m group interaction. For the purpose of group problem solving within group interaction two systematic techniques are suggested. They are Sociometry and Interaction Process Analysis as methods of understanding group behavior and analizing intepersonal behavior. The former was briefly discussed but the latter precisely involving illustrations for gaining insights into small-group phenomena.
