In this paper, we propose a new tuning algorithm of PID control parameters in order to improve output performance of PID controller using fuzzy inference rules. Initial parameter KP Ti, Td of the PID controller are obtained by the Ziegler-Nichols formula utilizing both the ultimate gain and ultimate period from a relay tuning method. From the plant output corresponding to these initial value of parameter, we can get error and the change of error given process control system, and then can iterativeltly find new tuning control parameters Kp Ti through a turning algorithm with fuzzy inference rule. The proposed fuzzy turning algorithm show better output performance characteristics related to overshoot and rising time than th of any other PID controllers studied previously. the performance and feasibility of proposed algorithm are illustrated with the aid of DC motor process from computer simulation.
