Long-term stability of organic blends is a key factor for the practical use of organic solar cells (OSCs) in commercial fields. Here, we report the strategic incorporation of non-fullerene small molecules in polymer:fullerene blends to obtain ternary OSCs with improved efficiency and extended lifetimes. Non-fullerene small molecules employed in the polymer:fullerene blend successfully increased the photon-to-current conversion process as an efficient charge cascade acceptor. A combination of theoretical simulations and experimental measurements revealed that aggregation of meta-stable fullerene molecules was significantly alleviated in the ternary blend, thereby preventing an unintentional increase in the threshold for charge transfer during operation. Thus, the ternary OSCs could exhibit highly extended lifetimes with improved morphological stability and better resistance to performance decay under harsh real operational conditions compared to their binary counterparts. Combined with its high efficiency and improved device lifetimes, the high tolerance to the ternary blend thickness offers promise for commercially acceptable ternary OSCs fabricated by a printing process.

Parametric virtual lower body of elderly women for apparel industry
Park, Sunmi,Nam, Yunja,Choi, Kuengmi Emerald Group Publishing Limited 2015 INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF CLOTHING SCIENCE AND TECH Vol.27 No.1

Purpose

– The purpose of this paper is to develop a virtual body that resembles the customer’s body shape using only the minimum information provided by the customer and without requiring individually scanned data.

Design/methodology/approach

– The target of this study includes the three-dimensional scanned data of 91 senior women aged 60 or older and human body measurement data of 268 people. The parametric virtual body was generated in three steps: a basic virtual body, a trans-shaped virtual body, and a trans-sized virtual body.

Findings

– Using organic relationships found in the body shape factors of the lower body, this study developed an algorithm to generate elderly women’s parametric virtual lower body that is quick and reproducible. Having tested the reproducibility of the algorithm, the parametric virtual body showed excellent reproducibility vis-à-vis the personal scanned data in both the shape acceptability and size acceptability.

Originality/value

– Because virtual bodies in this study are based on the results of body shape analysis related to apparel design, those resembling customer body shapes can be quickly and accurately generated. In addition, because body shape information for target groups is provided to the clothing manufacturers, it will likely contribute significantly to enhancing clothes fitting.

Effects of Body Postures on Clothing Air Gap in a Protective Suit
( Jiyoung Choi ),( Heejin Kim ),( Yunja Nam ),( Min K. Chung ),( Hyunsook Jung ) 한국감성과학회 2014 춘계학술대회 Vol.2014 No.-
Air gaps entrapped in a protective suit play an important role in heat transfer, and it is closely related to the wearer`s safety. The distribution and size of the air gaps depends on body motions. In this study 8 representative body motions (stretching, walking, crawling, crouching, twisting, climbing and reaching, moving weights, and lateral bending) of CBR excercise and 2~4 body postures per each motion were derived. After that, for one male participant, theses postures were scanned with a 3D body scanning technique. Scanning was performed for the nude and the dressed to measure the distribution and size of air gaps between the human body and clothing. As a result, the air gaps varied with the different postures. The results will be basic data to improve the protective performance of current protective suit.
