에센셜 오일(essential oil)은 1 개의 단일 식물형 및 식물종이 만들어낸 향이 나는 식물 재료를 물리적인 방법으로 얻어낸 휘발성 물질로 방부, 살균, 항균 효과가 뛰어나 화장품, 향료, 아로마 테라피 치료 등의 목적으로 폭 넓게 사용되고 있다. 에센셜오일은 추출 및 농축과정을 거치게 되는데 이때 재배 과정 중 살포된 농약 또한 추출 및 농축이 됨으로써 인체에 유해할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 에센셜 오일 중 320 종의 잔류농약을 분석하기 위하여 LC-MS/MS와 GC-MS/MS를 이용하였으며 기존의 정제과정인 hexane 대신 freezing 과정을 이용하여 전처리방법을 개선하였다. 에센셜 오일을 분석한 결과 기준치가 설정되어 있지 않은 chlorpyrifos, piperonyl butoxide, silafluofen 성분이 basil oil 및 clove leaf oil에서 검출되었다. 따라서 에센셜 오일에 대한 잔류농약 모니터링이 지속적으로 필요할 것으로 판단된다. Essential oil is a volatile substance obtained by physically obtaining fragrant plant materials made by one single plant and plant species, and is widely used for cosmetics, fragrances, and aroma therapy due to its excellent preservation, sterilization, and antibacterial effects. When essential oil would undergo the extraction and concentration processes, the agricultural chemicals thereof would be extracted and concentrated only to be harmful to the human body. This study analyzes 320 residual agricultural chemicals concentrated in the essential oil, and to this end, LC-MS/MS and GC-MS/MS are used, while the freezing process is applied instead of the conventional refining process hexane, to improve the preprocessing method. As a result of analyzing the essential oil, such ingredients as chlorpyrifos, piperonyl butoxide and silafluofen have been detected in Basil oil and Clove leaf oil. Hence, it is perceived that the residual agricultural chemicals should continue to be monitored for the essential oil.

Eritadenine, a potent compound of hypocholesterolemic activity, was investigated in relation to its content in domestic cultivars and wild types of shiitake (Lentinula edodes). Eighteens strains of shiitake were tested for the quantification of eritadenine by LC-MS/MS analysis. Among the strains, wild type-40 was highest as the content was 3.912 mg/g. Also, Soohyangko was 3.352mg/g, Sanlim No. 9 3.008 mg/g, Chunbaegko 2.832 mg/g, Gaeulhyang and KFRI 675 both 2.792 mg/g as high-content strains. Soohyangko and Chunbaegko are applied strains for registration in 2010. Soohyangko is high-temperature type with concentrated fruiting, and 90% of production occurs in the first year, thus, recovery of cost is very fast. Chunbaegko is mid-temperature type with concentrated flushing, and produces "hwago", the best quality, in spring. Wild type-40 is excellent in productivity and is prepared for registration. Wild type-40 could be used as parent strain to make new strain with high eritadenine content.

The cultivation characteristics of 26 wild strains of Lentinula edodes were investigated for their use as breeding material. Strains NIFoS 68, 136, 1521, 1651, and 2064 showed an above average mycelial growth on potato dextrose agar at 10, 20, and 30°C. NIFoS 411 showed the lowest mycelial growth at 20°C, but the highest growth at 30°C. The rate of weight loss of L. edodes cultivated on sawdust (2 kg) ranged from 13.5 to 47.5%, with the highest rates showed by NIFoS 50 (47.5%), NIFoS 128 (34.5%), and NIFoS 54 (34.4%). Fruiting bodies were produced in nearly all (24/26) strains and productivity ranged from 3 g to 446 g/2 kg medium. Temperature was not significantly correlated with mushroom production or mycelial growth. Larger weight loss correlated strongly with fruit yield. In terms of production, NIFoS 50 (446 g), NIFoS 952 (435 g), and NIFoS 53 (421 g) were useful as breeding material. The NIFoS 667 strain was superior in terms of morphology. NIFoS 670 showed the characteristic yellowishbrown color of fruiting bodies.
표고 톱밥재배에서 배지조성과 버섯발생 온도에 따른 β-glucan 함량 비교

Lentinula edodes is an edible mushroom that contains a β-glucan called lentinan, which has antitumor and immuneenhancing properties. In the present study, the β-glucan contents of L. edodes mushrooms cultivated on sawdust with different nutritional supplements and fruiting temperatures were measured using a commercial β-glucan assay kit purchased from Megazyme (Bray, Ireland). The weight loss of sawdust media and the yield of fruiting bodies showed similar trends, but the yield was more closely associated with the nutritional supplements used than the weight loss of sawdust media was. The β-glucan contents of L. edodes were 39.5-42.1%, except in the bean curd refuse + CaCl2 supplementation group (50.4%). Furthermore, the β-glucan content decreased with increasing temperatures and was 42.4% at a low fruiting temperature.
사각블럭 배지에서 국립산림과학원 개발 표고 품종의 자실체 특성 비교

국립산림과학원이 개발한 표고 품종 6개를 대상으로 사각블럭배지에 적합한 품종을 선발하고자 하였다. 100일째 중량감소율은 평균 14.4% (12.8%~15.7%) 였다. 발생작업 후 5~7일에 발이조사 결과 배지당 2~36개였고, 만추향>산산향>산백향>밤빛향>산장향>태향고 순이었다. 대길이는 41~59 mm였고 태향고>산백향>밤빛향>만추향>산장향>산산향 순으로 길었다. 대길이가 짧고 대두께가 굵은 품종은 산산향이 우수하였다. 개체당 중량은 33~77 g였고 태향고>밤빛향>산산향>만추향>산장향>산백향 순이었다. 2 kg 배지의 생산량은 산백향이 가장 많은 582 g이었고 밤빛향>만추향>태향고>산산향>산장향 순이었다. 버섯 갓의 경도는 1,218~1,839 g/10 mm였고 태향고가 1,839 g/10 mm로 가장 단단하였고 밤빛향이 가장 낮았다. 결론적으로 사각블럭배지 재배조건에서 버섯 생산량은 산백향과 밤빛향이 좋았고, 버섯 형태면에서 산산향이 우수하였다. Six strains among the shiitake varieties developed by the National Institute of Forest Science were used to select suitable varieties for sawdust block cultivation method. After 100 days cultivation (60 days in dark and 40 days in light), the weight loss rate of the sawdust block media was 14.4% (12.8% to 15.7%) in average. After 5 to 7 days of fruiting process, 2~36 primordia per medium were formed. The number of primordium formation was in the following order: Manchuhyang> Sansanhyang> Sanbaekhyang> Bambithyang> Sangjanghyang> Taehyanggo. The stipe length was 41~59 mm as followed by Taehyanggo (59 mm), Sanbackhyang (56 mm), Bambithyang (54 mm), Manchuhyang (53 mm), Sanjanghyang (45 mm) and Sansanhyang (41 mm). Among the strains, Sansanhyang had short and thick stipe. The average weight of fruiting bodies was 33~77 g as following order of Taehyanggo (77 g), Bambithyang (51 g), Sansanhyang (50 g), Manchuhyang (41 g), Sanjanghyang (34 g) and Sanbackhyang (33 g). Mushroom production per 2 kg medium was the highest in Sanbackhyang (473 g) followed by Bambithyang (287 g), Manchuhyang (175 g), Sansanhyang (109 g), Sanjanghyang (78 g) and Taehyanggo (60 g). The hardness of the cap was 1,218 to 1,839 g/10 mm. Taehyanggo was the hardest (1,839 g/10 mm) and Bambithyang was the softest (1,218 g/10 mm). In conclusion, in the cultivation condition of sawdust block medium, mushroom production was good in Sanbackhyang and Bambithyang. Sansanhyang showed good in terms of fruiting body shape.
Neuronatin Is Associated with an Anti-Inflammatory Role in the White Adipose Tissue

Neuronatin (NNAT) is known to regulate ion channels during brain development and plays a role in maintaining the structure of the nervous system. A previous in silico analysis showed that Nnat was overexpressed in the adipose tissue of an obese rodent model relative to the wild type. Therefore, the aim of the present study was to investigate the function of Nnat in the adipose tissue. Because obesity is known to systemically induce low-grade inflammation, the Nnat expression level was examined in the adipose tissue obtained from C57BL/6 mice administered lipopolysaccharide (LPS). Unexpectedly, the Nnat expression level decreased in the white adipose tissue after LPS administration. To determine the role of NNAT in inflammation, 3T3-L1 cells overexpressing Nnat were treated with LPS. The level of the p65 subunit of nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-κB) and the activity of NF-κB luciferase decreased following LPS treatment. These results indicate that NNAT plays an anti-inflammatory role in the adipose tissue.
