        Effect of Dodecylbenzene Sulfonic Acid on the Behavior of Asphaltene Aggregation in a Solvent Deasphalting System

        The effect of dodecylbenzene sulfonic acid (DBSA) with different addition amount of DBSA (M<sub>DBSA</sub>), temperatures and solvent-to-oil ratio (SOR, v/v) on asphaltene aggregation in a solvent deasphalting system was investigated. Increasing the M<sub>DBSA</sub> at SOR 10 and 55℃ caused the asphaltene removal ratio (ARR) to increase first, then maximize at 1 wt% of M<sub>DBSA</sub> and then decrease continuously. Based on the SARA (saturate, aromatic, resin, asphaltene) composition, the adsorption amount of DBSA on the asphaltene surface and the self-aggregation of the DBSA, the reason for the change in ARR with M<sub>DBSA</sub> was found due to the adsorption mechanism. In addition, the asphaltene-resin-DBSA colloidal size confirmed the change of adsorption behavior between the asphaltene and DBSA. Based on the results of this study, a hypothetical adsorption mechanism of DBSA on asphaltene aggregation in the solvent deasphalting system was conceived of and proposed.

      • The Influence of Regional Intellectual Capital on Regional Economic Development-Evidence from China

        The aim of this paper is to examine the relationship between regional intellectual capital and economic performance in China. Using the methods of factor analysis and ridge regression, this paper makes an empirical study on the function of regional intellectual capital (RIC) on regional economic development by evaluating the RIC of 17 cities in Shandong Province in 2012. It is found that RIC and the development of regional economy are positively correlated and regional intellectual capital explains 29.9 percent of the growth of GDP. But there exists some differences in the degree of their contribution to the economic development. In the four elements of intellectual capital, the regional innovation capital and structure capital have larger contribution on regional economic development than relational capital and human capital. And there also exists some differences in the level of RIC in different areas. Based on the results of such research, it will then be possible to recommend appropriate comments and suggestions of promoting balanced development of regional economy through the development of RIC.

        Physiological and biochemical characterization of sheepgrass (Leymus chinensis) reveals insights into photosynthetic apparatus coping with low-phosphate stress conditions

        Sheepgrass [Leymus chinensis (Trin.) Tzvel] is a valuble forage plant highly significant to regional grassland productivity of Euro-Asia steppes. Although effects of environmental stress including drought have been studied, impact of nutrient deficiency in particular phosphate (Pi), one of the essential macronutrient, is not reported. Here, we investigated low-Pi effect on its photosynthetic apparatus via physiological and biochemical analysis. We show that PSII activity was significantly reduced based on chlorophyll fluorescence measurements. We observed decreased amount of core proteins of PSII by immunoblot analysis. Further analysis of thylakoid membranes using 2D-BN/SDS-PAGE and immunoblot detection demonstrated that the amount of PSII complexes was closely correlated with the Pi levels within the range. Together with reduced number of thylakoid grana stackings observed, we suggest that the maintenance of PSII is impaired under Pi-limited condition. Moreover, enzyme activity assays revealed that the activity of several ROS scavenger enzymes was stimulated by low-Pi treatment. Based on these experimental results we conclude that PSII is the component of photosynthetic apparatus most sensitive to Pi supply and the enhanced anti-ROS activity is mainly subjective to protection of PSII against low Pi-induced photo-oxidative stress in the organism.

        Attentional Connectivity-based Prediction of Autism Using Heterogeneous rs-fMRI Data from CC200 Atlas

        Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a developmental syndrome characterized by obvious drawbacks in sociality and communication. It has crucial significance to exactly discern the individuals with ASD and typical controls (TC). Previous imaging studies on ASD/TC identification have made remarkable progress in the exploration of objective as well as crucial biomarkers associated with ASD. However, glaring deficiency is manifested by the investigation on solely homogeneous and small datasets. Thus, we attempted to unveil some replicable and robust neural patterns of autism using a heterogeneous multi-site brain imaging dataset from ABIDE (Autism Brain Imaging Data Exchange). Experiments were carried out with an attention mechanism based on Extra-Trees algorithm, taking the study object of brain connectivity measured with the resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) data of CC200 atlas. With cross-validation strategy, our proposed method resulted in a mean classification accuracy of 72.2% (sensitivity=68.6%, specificity=75.4%). It raised the precision of ASD prediction by about 2% and specificity by 3.2% in comparison with the most competitive reported effort. Connectivity analysis on the optimal model highlighted informative regions strongly involved in the social cognition as well as interaction, and manifested lower correlation between the anterior and posterior default mode network (DMN) in autistic individuals than controls. This observation is concordant with previous studies, which enables our proposed method to effectively identify the individuals with risk of ASD.

      • 용매 추출 조건에 따른 Bench-Scale Unit에서의 중질유 탈아스팔텐의 수율/성상 변화

        석유 제품의 수요가 증가하고 원유의 매장량의 감소로 인해 품질이 낮고 값이 싼 기회원유를 활용하기 위하여 고부가화 기술에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 이러한 기술의 하나인 SDA(Solvent Deasphalting)는 많은 불순물을 포함한 아스팔텐성분을 선택적으로 제거해 주는 공정으로 주목받고 있다. 그러나 사용된 다량의 용매를 회수하기 위한 에너지 사용에 따른 운전비 상승은 개선의 필요성을 갖고 있다. 이를 해결하기 위해 본 연구에서는 SDA 추출과정에서 첨가제를 사용하여 추출의 성능과 선택도를 향상시키는 방안을 확인해 보고자 하였다. 첨가제 실험에 앞서 첨가제가 없는 조건에서 추출 온도와 용매비율 변화에 따른 탈아스팔텐유(DAO) 의 수율과 성상의 변화를 관찰하였다. 실험은 0.1 배럴/일 용량의 벤치 규모 설비를 사용하였으며, VR+중유(1:1)를 원료로 n-Pentane을 용매로 사용하였다. 42bar의 일정한 압력 하에 185~205°C의 온도범위와 용매/원료의 비율이 6~8(v/v)인 조건에서 실험을 하였다. 실험 결과 온도가 증가할수록 수율은 감소하고 품질은 향상되고 용매의 비율이 증가함에 따라 수율이 감소하고 품질이 향상되는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.
