        장래교통수요예측을 고려한 도로 유지관리 방안

        PURPOSES : This study aims to examine the differences between the existing traffic demand forecasting method and the traffic demand forecasting method considering future regional development plans and new road construction and expansion plans using a four-step traffic demand forecast for a more objective and sophisticated national highway maintenance. This study ultimately aims to present future pavement deterioration and budget forecasting planning based on the examination. METHODS: This study used the latest data offered by the Korea Transport Data Base (KTDB) as the basic data for demand forecast. The analysis scope was set using the Daejeon Metropolitan City’s O/D and network data. This study used a traffic demand program called TransCad, and performed a traffic assignment by vehicle type through the application of a user equilibrium-based multi-class assignment technique. This study forecasted future traffic demand by verifying whether or not a realistic traffic pattern was expressed similarly by undertaking a calibration process. This study performed a life cycle cost analysis based on traffic using the forecasted future demand or existing past pattern, or by assuming the constant traffic demand. The maintenance criteria were decided according to equivalent single axle loads (ESAL). The maintenance period in the concerned section was calculated in this study. This study also computed the maintenance costs using a construction method by applying the maintenance criteria considering the ESAL. The road user costs were calculated by using the user cost calculation logic applied to the Korean Pavement Management System, which is the existing study outcome. RESULTS : This study ascertained that the increase and decrease of traffic occurred in the concerned section according to the future development plans. Furthermore, there were differences from demand forecasting that did not consider the development plans. Realistic and accurate demand forecasting supported an optimized decision making that efficiently assigns maintenance costs, and can be used as very important basic information for maintenance decision making. CONCLUSIONS : Therefore, decision making for a more efficient and sophisticated road management than the method assuming future traffic can be expected to be the same as the existing pattern or steady traffic demand. The reflection of a reliable forecasting of the future traffic demand to life cycle cost analysis (LCCA) can be a very vital factor because many studies are generally performed without considering the future traffic demand or with an analysis through setting a scenario upon LCCA within a pavement management system.

        트래픽 엔지니어링의 기능 모델

        본 논문에서는 인터넷에서의 트래픽 엔지니어링 체제를 구축하기 위하여 트래픽 엔지니어링을 수행하기 위한 상위레벨 기능 모델을 제시하였다. 제시한 기능 모델은 트래픽 관리, 용량 관리, 그리고 네트워크 계획으로 구성된다. 트래픽 관리는 다양한 조건하에서 네트워크 성능을 최대화하는 것을 목적으로 하며, 용량 관리는 최소의 비용으로 네트워크 요구에 대한 성능 목표치를 만족시키기 위하여 네트워크가 설계되고 제공됨을 목적으로 한다. 또한 네트워크 계획은 예측된 트래픽 증가에 앞서 노드와 전송 용량이 계획되고 배치됨을 보장한다. This paper presented high-level function model to achieve traffic engineering to construct traffic engineering infrastructure in Internet. Function model presented include traffic management, capacity management, and network planing. It is ensured that network performance is maximized under all conditions including load shifts and failures by traffic management. It is ensured that the network is designed and provisioned to meet performance objectives for network demands at minimum cost by capacity management. Also it is ensured that node and transport capacity is planned and deployed in advance of forecasted traffic growth by network planning.

        자가 적응형 예측 서비스를 위한 스마트 차량 네트워크 설계

        Recently, A variety of vehicular network services are key technologies to estimate that vehicle could be located, and Intelligent Transportation Systems have a solution to this problem. In addition, Vehicular Ad hoc Networks emerge as ITS component that provides cooperative communication with vehicles and the necessary infrastructure to improve the flow of vehicles in cities. By the result, it has been a proliferation of challenges for authorities with regard to traffic management. Especially, according to consequence of congestion on traffic, accidents, and pollution, they are a still major cause, despite the development of well-made systems for traffic management and other technologies linked with vehicles. After all, it is necessary that a general system for accident management is developed. Such as, traffic congestion in most urban areas can be alleviated by the real-time planning of routes. Nevertheless, the designing of an efficient route planning algorithm to attain a globally optimal vehicle control is still a challenge that needs to be solved, particularly when the unique preferences of drivers are considered. The development of the vehicular network prediction algorithms using dynamic models, often required building a system model with complex equations. Accordingly, we propose the protocol of vehicular traffic that will receive a popular interesting in the vehicular network service in this paper. It has proven the usefulness of the system in order to apply toward an existing vehicular communication network. Among the experimented existing algorithm performance, we confirmed the effectiveness of all range from a single data, to verify the proposed algorithm.

        1차로 전면차단 후 도로포장 보수방법의 효과분석 (김천~선산 사례중심)

        PURPOSES: This study supports the evidence that it is possible to rehabilitate a damaged pavement with a lane closure specifically based on the Gimcheon~Sunsan project. METHODS : The prediction results from the simulation programs were compared with field monitoring, which focused on traffic management planning, congestion (length, time, and passing speed), bypass, and user cost, among others. RESULTS : The research results showed that lane closure application and pavement repair of the aged pavement in Korea were possible, even though the prediction results were minimally different from the field monitoring. The road agency contributes to service life extension of the rehabilitated pavement using this method. CONCLUSIONS: A marginal effect caused by the lane closure was observed on travelling users or vehicles, and the user cost of pavement repair decreased. Therefore, introducing the repair method or rehabilitation in Korea is possible. Information dissemination through various media was properly done to execute the project well. Moreover, the construction area traffic utilized nearby alternative roads. Therefore, improving the repaired pavemen’s service life while ensuring that the pavement management agency can provide a road with comfortable user riding quality was possible.

        국외 도로 유지보수 사례 검토를 통한 고속도로 리모델링 사업 추진 체계 연구

        PURPOSES : This study proposes a framework for promoting future expressway remodeling projects by reviewing similar overseas cases and comparing them with current Korean expressway remodeling projects. METHODS : Based on a literature review, this study examines the major issues in expressway remodeling projects and proposes the development of a framework for establishing and promoting such projects. This framework provides detailed guidance by categorizing the project into legal system adjustments, traffic management plans, and social consensus. RESULTS : The diagnosis of issues in domestic expressway remodeling projects revealed significant problems in conceptual aspects, criteria for project evaluation, formulation of traffic diversion strategies, and deficiencies in related legal frameworks. To address these issues, a framework for advancing future remodeling projects was established based on the results of overseas case studies. CONCLUSIONS : As roads deteriorate, the demand for remodeling projects to restore them increases. However, the current implementation of remodeling projects lacks systematic procedures. This study serves as foundational research for establishing an environment conducive to the smooth progress of such projects. By initiating subsequent research, conditions for the smooth progress of remodeling projects are expected to be established.
