        베트남 리왕조의 長期化 要因 一考察

        송정남 한국외국어대학교 동남아연구소 2024 東南亞硏究 Vol.34 No.1

The Ly dynasty in Vietnam is the first long-term royal dynasty in the history of the Vietnamese dynasty. The Ly dynasty was also the second-longest-existed dynasty among the long-term dynasties. This paper focuses on domestic and foreign factors, especially foreign factors, on the factors that allowed the Ly Dynasty to exist for a long time. The external factor is that China has exhausted its national power due to threats such as Western Xia(西夏), Liao(遼), Jin(金), and Mongolia in the west, north, and east, as well as excessive 文治主義(Governing by law and reason rather than by military force), in which the Chinese Song dynasty’s neglected the 武治(Politics centered on protecting the country and increasing military force).

邊境의 불안정성과 明 洪武帝가 大越을 대하는 태도

송미령 동양사학회 2024 東洋史學硏究 Vol.166 No.-

This article aims to show that the relationship between Ming China and Dai Viet at the end of the 14th century was affected by the instability of the southwest frontier and the north frontier. Previous studies have attributed the stability of relations with Dai Viet during the reign of Emperor Hongmu to the emperor's indifference to the country. They also suggest that his formulation of the principle of not going to war with his fifteen neighbors had a significant impact on relations with the Dai Viet. However, Emperor Hongmu was not indifferent to the political upheaval in Dai Viet. He also kept a close eye on political fluctuations in Dai Viet, such as usurpations, and used them to his advantage in the Ming dynasty. In other words, it was necessary for Dai Viet to maintain relations with the Ming China for political reasons, and the Ming China capitalized on this. The Ming China's treatment of the Dai Viet, while ostensibly benevolent, was actually a military threat. In other words, the Ming China practiced a ‘Diplomacy with power’ based on military power rather than relying on authority based on culture or ritual. During the reign of Emperor Hongmu, the Ming ruled the southwestern frontier region through alliances with local chiefs. However, the alliance was not solid. As a result, Emperor Hongmu was unable to go to war with a country that he had a conflict with. In addition, Emperor Hongmu believed that the Mongols would soon attack the Ming with a large army. For this reason, he could not go to war with the Dai Viet. Thus, by the end of the Hongmu Emperor's reign, the Ming borderlands were unstable, and this affected the relationship between the Ming and the Dai Viet.

        베트남의 國號와 領土

        송정남 한국외국어대학교 동남아연구소 2007 東南亞硏究 Vol.16 No.2

The name and territory of Vietnam underwent much changes in truth in long period of history. Vietnam, China and France, utilizing geopolitical factors, has been major players that brought about changes. Vietnam, Bordering on China, has been subject to incessant infiltration and interference from China for political and economic reasons. As a result, its name and territory underwent much changes. During the period of absolute monarchy Vietnam has strived for territorial expansion to the South. As a result, Chiem Thanh disappeared in the map and fair part of Cambodian soil was admitted into Vietnam. This brought about serious dispute between Cambodia, Vietnam and Thailand. France was also responsible for the changes of name and territory of Vietnam. With France's advance major actors for the changes of Vietnam's name and territory changed from China and Vietnam to France. On this account Vietnam lost not only its name but also territories that its has merged from Laos and Cambodia. Furthermore, it ended Vietnam's prolonged territorial expansion policy to Laos and Cambodia. Therefore, both Cambodia and Laos was given opportunities for recovering their own territories with France's advance into the region. Both faces of Vietnam history is well reflected in the change of its name and territory. On the one hand it was realized as Vietnam's struggle for recovering its lost name and territory, but on the other it appeared as a form of encroaching on its neighbours.
