        제품개발에 있어서 CAD/CAM/CAE의 활용 방안에 대한 연구

        최근 정보기술의 발달에 따라 3차원 CAD에서는 CAE를 활용한 컴퓨터상에서의 구조해석 검토가 이루어져 개발 기간을 대폭적으로 단축하고 생산준비를 위한 공정을 CAM에서 상당부분 자동화할 수 있게 되었다. CAD시스템을 효과적으로 이용하여 제품개발설계의 효율을 어떻게 상승 시킬 것인가에 대한 도전은 각 기업 및 관련 단체에서 CAD시스템을 도입한 이후 계속해서 모색되어 왔다. 즉 컴퓨터 내의 가상공간에서 개발의 모든 과정이 진행되는 비주얼시뮬레이션이 실현되었으며 이러한 시스템 개발에 의한 생산 활동은 양산 이후의 트러블이나 설계변경의 대폭적인 감소로 개발기간의 단축으로 남게 되었다. 이것의 공통점은 제품개발 선행단계에서 많은 작업을 종료시킴으로써 빈번한 형상수정에 필요한 시간과 인력을 감소시키는데 큰 역할을 하였다. 3차원 CAD의 활용으로 개발기간의 단축 및 제품의 납기 코스트의 절감 제품의 품질향상을 위하여 모든 기업은 끊임없이 노력하여 효율적인 시스템의 관리가 진행 되어왔다. 또한 CAD/CAM/CAE를 베이스로 한 제품개발 시스템을 둘 러싼 환경은 점점 더 엄격해지고 치밀해져 그 시대상황에 맞는 신제품 개발시스템에 대한 체질 개혁이 필수적이며 그 기반을 위해 체계화된 수법이나 정보기술 등의 통합으로 구조개혁의 노력이 계속 되어야 한다는 점에서 본 논지의 의의를 갖고 있다. As the development of informative technology structural interpretation on the computer is reviewed by utilizing CAE in 3-D CAD. It permits to shorten the period of development sharply and to automate the process of preparation of production in CAM. Many companies and relevant groups have challenged and studied continuously how to raise the efficiency of development project by using CAD system since its introduction. These efforts led to invent visual simulation that makes all the process of development in virtual factory in the computer. Hereafter the productive activities by this kind of system development reduced drastically the troubles and alteration of design and gained massive changes in the process of product development. Thus this contributes a lot to reduce man power and the time to be necessary in frequent revision by taking off many works in the precedent phase of product development. Every company has made efforts not only to shorten the period of development to supply products to cut down cost but to improve the quality of the goods through the appliance of 3-D CAD. At the same time the environment surrounding product development system on the basis of CAD/CAM/CAE becomes strict and refined more and more. So this study holds the meaning in the point that it is essential to reform the constitution on the new products' development system in order to meet the current trend. And for the foundation unremitting effort should be kept to reorganize the structure by reunion of the systemized method and informative technologies.

      • 한·중·일을 중심으로 한 CAD/CAM/CAE 시스템의 응용 사례

        이 논문은 한.중.일 간의 CAD/CAM/CAE 시스템을 서로 비교하면서 미래의 공장자동화 시스템의 국제적인 수준을 가늠해 보고 국내에서 사용하는 시스템과 방법을 소개한 후에 몽골에 적용할 시스템을 제시하기 위한 것이다. 아울러 자동화 시스템의 활성화를 통하여 무인화된 공장경영과 함께 동북아의 산업 발전에 이바지하기 위한 것이다. 특별히 CAE시스템이란 CAD/CAM시스템의 중간에 CAPP, EDB, 해석 및 시뮬레이션 등공정 또는 엔지니어링 분야에 대한 보조적인 지원 시스템이다. 또 넓은 의미의 CAE시스템은 해석뿐 만아니라 간섭체크, 공정계획과 관리 등의 복합 기능을 가지고 있다. CAD/CAM/CAE 시스템은 본 기능 외에 모델링과 공정계획에 따른 리엔지니어링, 기능적인 시뮬레이션과 해석, 체제 시스템 및 모델링에 따른 보간 시스템 등을 포함하며, 이들은 각자 유기적인 관계를 형성하고 있다. 한편, 몽골은 세계 최대의 캐시미어 제품의 생산국이고 Gobi회사는 의류 판매만으로도 연간 수천만 달러의 외화를 획득을 하고 있다. 그러나 디자인이나 품질 면에서 선진국에는 미치지 못하므로 이를 개선하기 위하여 의류용 CAD/CAM 시스템의 도입이 절실히 필요하라고 생각된다.

      • A New Approach to Robustly Exchange Models in Heterogeneous CAD/CAE Environment and its Application

        The model exchange from CAD system to CAE system in valid and effective manner is the major issue of automatic analysis modelling of ship structure. However, model exchange approaches based on the neutral CAD file have resulted in invalid model exchange that could not properly reflect the characteristics of CAD model and CAE model of ship structure. This paper presents the new approach of n-to-n mapping to exchange ship structure model in heterogeneous CAD/CAE environments. In this study, the common model called 'unified ship model for analysis' to directly extract proper information from different CAD systems for ship structural analysis is proposed. Moreover, a command language based model interfacing technique to construct an idealized model for analysis job is also proposed. The proposed approach has been actually implemented in DSME CAD/CAE environment of ship structure such as TRIBON system, PATRAN system and FLUENT system. The applicability and effectiveness of the proposed approach was verified by applying it to the real analysis project for fore-body of ship and block lifting. This application results show that the proposed approach can be effectively used for heterogeneous CAD/CAE environment.

      • 최근 CAD/CAM system 등의 발전 동향에 관한 연구

        컴퓨터의 발달은 사회 전반적인 변화와 동시에 CAD/CAM 등의 분야에 획기전인 발전을 가져왔다. 단순한 CAD/CAM 뿐만 아니라 CAE 등으로 응력해석, 간섭체크 및 시물레이션이 가능하고 FMS시스템으로 발전하여 로봇이나 자동화기계를 이용한 공장 자동화를 달성하였다. 한편 CIM시스템은 각종의 생산 분야를 통합하고 다시 영업, 유통 및 연구 분야의 시스템을 구축하여 종합 생산관리 시스템이 탄생하였다. 앞으로 PDM나 ERP시스템으로 확장되어 시장이나 재고 관리등이 모두 포함된 소위 기술, 경영의 통합을 통한 급진적인 발전이 예상되는 분야라고 생각된다.       • Generation of CAE Element Mesh Model from Point Cloud Data

        In the area of CAD, reverse engineering is a technology that generates computer-aided design data of the model based on point data acquired from the part surface scanning. Reverse engineers try to improve the way of measuring an object and deduce a surface or solid model in order to exploit the advantages of CAD/CAM technologies. Finite element method or boundary element method can be applied to predict the degree of strength, vibration, and noise of the object. However these methods cannot use computer- aided design data directly as starting data of analysis. So there should be some kind of interface between CAD and CAE. In this study, we present algorithm which can generate CAD model and CAE element mesh model simultaneously from surface point data. This algorithm uses 3D grid and surface point data. The points of each grid adjust their position within their grid through medium approximation method in order to best fit into original geometric model. The resulted CAE element mesh model contains hexahedral elements.

        The finite element modeling of a ship for hull structural analysis on the basis of new harmonized common structural rules (CSR-H) is to be extended to the cargo holds in fore and after body of a ship. Unlike the parallel middle-body where the external and internal features of hull are equal along to the longitudinal direction of a ship, in fore and after body, the external and internal features of hull vary linearly or even irregularly in forms of a surface or a curve along to the longitudinal direction of a ship. Thus, it needs lots of design man-hours for the modeling for structural analysis. In order to save man-hours in initial structural design phase of a ship, the specified 3D CAD system has been adopted in shipbuilding industry. Through the interface between CAD and CAE (rule scantling and direct strength assessment), design man-hour in initial design phase can be saved even under the environment of CSR-H.

      • Structural optimization of mechanical components using radial basis function and CAD-CAE integration approach

        This paper presents a framework of CAD-CAE integration applied to structural optimization of mechanical components. The processes of design, analysis and redesign in the cycle of structural optimization are performed seamlessly without the interaction of the designer. This method utilizes the automatic module which most of commercial CAD-CAE systems support the users the ability of customization and automation of repeated tasks based on common programming languages. For optimization technique, radial basis function as an approximation-based optimization is used to generate the objective functions and constraints in form of inexpensive explicit functions. Proposed approach makes the structural optimization process easier, convenient and more computational benefit especially in collaborative design environment.

        구조최적설계를 위한 설계 및 해석 통합화 방안연구

        In product development, different divisions and businesses often have heterogeneous CAD/CAE systems and methods for expressing product data, and addressing this heterogeneity creates additional costs and causes longer development periods. To ensure successful collaboration in the design process, it is therefore imperative that different CAD, CAE, and other related systems be managed in an organic and integrated manner from the initial stages of product development. Therefore, this study suggests an integrated CAD/CAE system including optimal design in a more effective and integrated manner but also to support interfacing and the collective use of design and analysis tools. To validate the proposed method, a stiffened plate example is taken as an example. It is found that the proposed method could overcome the bottleneck of CAD and CAE such as transferability of data, though CATIA and ANSYS are used at the moment.

        THE INTEGRATION OF CAD/CAM/CAE BASED ON MULTI MODEL TECHNOLOGY IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF CYLINDER HEAD

        The integration of CAD/CAM/CAE in product development is the key to realize concurrent engineering. Generally, different systems are employed in product development departments. These different systems create a lot of trout)toes such as difficulty in communication, misunderstanding and so on. A new approach to integrate CAD/CAM/CAE in one system based on CATIA thor the end-to-end process in cylinder head development is presented. Hulti Model Technology (MMT) is used to create consistent and associated CAD models for the end-to-end process in cylinder head development. The concept and method to create and organize multi models are discussed. A typical four-layer structure of HHT for mechanical products is defined. The multi level structure of the cylinder head models based on MMT is provided. The CAD models of cylinder head created based on MMT can be used as the consistent model. All models in the downstream of cylinder head development such as structure analysis, CFD, sand core design , casting simulation and so oil are associated with the CAD models. Practice shows the approach in this paper enables the development process to be carried concurrently and can obviously shorten time to the market, reduce product cost and improve product quality.

        Recently, a CAD/CAE integrated system has been developed and it has been available to conduct CAE analysis based on the geometry. In the car developing process, always designer should control the geometrical parameters about the shape and the size to obtain the optimal solution, the CAE module based on the CAD system allows a designer can parameterize the shape and the size design factors and take the result rapidly just as changing the geometry and solving the update CAE model on that CAD system. In this paper, the slam analysis of door module was conducted using a CAD/CAE integrated system. The shape and size factors of door module are parameterized and the analysis models are generated automatically and solved as the DOE plan.
