The spatial analysis of indoor and outdoor spaces in medical and dental hospital is necessary for the development of healing environment and architectural planning of healthcare system and hospital architecture in Korea. The purpose of this study is to provide basic information about spatial configuration of healing environment such as rest area and outside view in Dankook university hospital, cancer center, and dental hospital. Literature review and investigation on current status of healing environment in Dankook healthcare facilities have been conducted. The relationship between healthcare facilities and factors of healing environment has been analyzed. The result of this study can be summarized as followed. The first one is that factors of healing environment are rest area and direct access to rest area, and outdoor natural view from inside of healthcare facilities. The second one is that rest areas are located inside and outside of facility and roof garden in Dankook healthcare facilities. The outside view from Dankook university hospital and cancer center is mountain green view and the one from dental hospital is lake water view in university campus. The third one is that characteristics of spatial configuration on outdoor rest area is low integration in access road and high integration inside rest area of medical hospital, and two different types(high and low integration) of rest area in dental hospital. The fourth one is that continuous and dynamic walking road of medical hospital can be a new factor of healing environment formation. This is the research of spatial configuration in healthcare system for the healing environment and to be expanded to other hospitals in Korea.

Most workers at dental hospitals complained about noise, poor ventilation, dusty environment, and air dryness. SBS symptoms score for subjects was 1.43±0.74 (often feel) and major symptoms was throat, CNS, eye, and nose symptoms. Recognized Building-related health symptoms are significantly related to tasks, working experience, job-satisfaction, indoor environment recognition index, medical history, used to special material, and number of dental unit chair. Also working places and ventilation are significantly related to the symptom. Based on the results, it can be said that special dental treatment causes undesirable environment such as noise, dust, and bad odor. It is also related to recognized building related health symptoms reported by workers at dental hospitals. Purpose : The study was to promote patient safety by analyzing the effect of dental hygienist's perception of patient safety culture on infection control activities. Methods : The study is based on a survey of 210 dental hygienists in total working in dental settings. To find out infection control activities according to patient safety culture awareness, there were 6 general characteristics, 3 teamwork within the department, 2 infection control systems, 4 surface management, 9 equipment washing, disinfection, and laundry management, 4 infectious wastes, and 3 personal protection phrases. The data was analyzed using the SPSS version 20.0, and p<.05 was adopted to decide on significance. Results : The longer dental hygienists have worked n the dental settings, the more active they become in infection control activities. Among the different types of dental care settings, general (university) hospitals had the largest number of infection control activities, followed by dental clinics, and network dental clinics, in descending order. The dental settings possessing a higher number of dental hygienists were found to conduct more infection control activities than other dental settings. In addition, it was found that when a dental setting adopts a patient safety policy across all the units in the hospital, more systems and procedures for patient safety tend to be established, and that stricter management response to error leads to improvement of infection control activities. Conclusion :In order to enhance infection control activities, infection control activity programs should develop and implement periodic reinforcement of infection control education. regular monitoring of infection control activities.
